For me, in that unit, yes. I would have shot him too. I had a buddy whose daughter had that hunt, and they were after that same buck opening morning, almost got a 350 yard shot early, but he would not present a decent shot. Congrats on a great buck.

Pretty slow today too. 14 Eurasians, 10 morning, 2 WW. I did get this Eurasian though. Picked him out of a group of 6 coming in with my 1st shot, and tagged a 2nd before they passed. -

Haha. Adam was forcing me to take quick shots to keep him off my birds. But it worked. Definitely slow, but I eked out 12 morning, 2 ww, and 22 Eurasians this morning. -

That is why we kill as many as possible. Adam still has me on a one day total of 100 or 101, but I had a few 85+ days last year. Eurasions are so much fun to shoot. -

Like I said buddy, I have a Mossberg 500 20ga with a reg stock & short stock, and even an 18" barrel for it if you want to borrow it.

Taylor's hunt went that way last year too. And she scored a toad as well. Sometimes God has much better plans for you than what YOU think they should be. Just as the OP learned. Got 3 chances at his buck, and capitalized on a good shot. Stud buck!
