"High Energy". Fed tried to match Hornady's "Light Magnum" line back in the day.

My brother's 600 yard kill shot
lancetkenyon replied to Bryson Bendall's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I did not watch the entire video, but why "not legal"? Why do you say "no tag"? Definitely not "night hunting" if you watched the video. I do agree with the 7-08 though! And the video comment of "14 shots today" has me uneasy too. -
I use an iGuaging 6" EZ Cal. But Mitutoyo or Starett are the top dogs. I measure to .0005" when seating bullets.

I only trim when I get within .002" of max case length. Then trim to minimum. Depending on case design, could be every third firing or every sixth.

Not in a 6.5PRC. But I have in my two 6.5SSs. A bit more horsepower than the PRC though. Great combo. -
SELLING MEOPTA S2 SPOTTER WITH 30-60 WA EYEPIECE
lancetkenyon replied to Chanaman13's topic in Classified Ads
Great spotters. I had one for years. -
Actually, it is kind of the opposite. Brass "work hardens" from firing and sizing. Which causes "springback", neck cracking/splitting, inconsistent sizing, etc. Annealing softens it, meaning consistent sizing and neck tension. I anneal every single time I size/load. I want my brass the same hardness each time I load it. Not a little harder, then a little harder, then a little harder, then annealing it back to soft. This works for for some guys, but I want consistency. I do not know if it helps that much, but even .05" better accuracy helps. So does low ES/SD from a consistent tension. Steel is tempered (hardened), by being heated and quickly cooled.

MAP gas, torch, deep socket, cordless drill here. I do probably 9-11k a year.

Trade 1,000 small rifle primers for 2,000 either large pistol or small pistol
lancetkenyon replied to Couescoues's topic in Classified Ads
Which way are you looking to trade? You have 2000 pistol looking for 1000 rifle? Or vice versa? -
Good powder for the big cases burning slow powders. I use it in my personal 28 Nosler.

Not a big fan of pig hunting either anymore. They are fun, but I don't like to shoot something I won't eat....except pigeons. I hate those flying rats.

20%, nice! Yeah, I honestly thought it was 10%. Good to know. By the way, if you are talking pronghorn....good freaking luck with 5.

I don't want to ruin the fun here, but if you are serious, you are WAY off on how the draw works. Depending on species choice (I am assuming elk), you have 4 BPs going into this draw. If you are unsuccessful, you will be issued another BP, and have 5 BPs going into next year. Now, you can put in for up to 5 hunt choices. No matter whether you have 0 BPs or 30 BPs. You will be issued a random number for each of your BPs and one for this year's application. So totaling 5 numbers. Let's say you are given #s 1017, 2032, 5089, 8591, 19001 for your "lottery" numbers. The Bonus round goes for the top BP holders, up to 10% of the available tags for their units of choice. Unless you are putting in for cow elk hunts in bad units, you more than likely will not be in the bonus pass. Next is the first pass. They will start at #1, and whoever has #1 will get their 1st choice. #2 next, and so on. But, they ONLY look at choices 1 & 2 in the first round. By the time they get to your #1017, they will look at your 1st and 2nd choices. If there are tags left, you get a tag. If not, you are reissued a random number for the 2nd pass, where they look at choices 3 thru 5. Not usually many tags left in the 2nd round. Low population units, limited opportunities, cow hunts maybe, etc. Hardly ever any bull hunts in the 2nd round. For me, I only put in two choices. Edit: Nevermind. You are looking for GoHunt draw odds. I can't read for $#!t sometimes. Use 5 points. 4 BPs plus the application.

For big game hunting, I can think of 9. Add small game and bird hunting, add about 6 or 7 more. I hopefully have one new guy this year, my nephew, if he draws a tag. He is getting out of the navy this year, and I have been waiting for his first hunt for 14 years. Plus, my two young granddaughters will be hunting in 7 and 8 years from now! So can't wait for that too! Last, my future son-in-law just joined the USAF, left for boot 2 weeks ago, and has 6 years of service to go. But, I bought him a license this year and started building BPs for him, so when he gets home, will have 7 BPs waiting for him. It is kind of weird, because his mom & step dad hunt, but have never taken him.

Could not care less. I don't watch any professional sports.

If sold and licensed as a pistol, it will.always be a pistol, and cannot have a butt stock installed. Nothing ever said or written about the use of a bipod. Is it really any different than this? An SBR (short barreled rifle) will need a $200 ATF tax stamp, and can have a butt stock. But cannot be considered a "pistol". So could not be used as a pistol on a HAM hunt. Get your definitions straight. This is 100% a pistol by definition. Next on the gripe list will be the new in-line smokeless powder muzzle loaders... Nice job Adam and Mrs. Big Brown. And Adam....her pig is bigger than yours...

After the last question I was #17, 6817 on my first try.

Is "big trash pick up" going on in his neighborhood? Maybe a "blight" complaint by a neighbor? 🤣

Unless you plan on taking it to Mexico, no reason not to fire form your own. Work up an accurate fire forming load, and shoot them for practice, and even hunt with them. I do it quite often.

Possibly my next dog will be a Weim. I am a GSP guy, but love the Weims too.

The "Gadsden Purchase". I have a lot of family in Douglas/Bisbee. So I know that name well. Beautiful Gadsden Hotel in Douglas too. Great restaurant in the hotel.

Overpressure! Especially in a belted case that does not headspace off the shoulder. That is significant, not just a bit of shine. Have you measured your freebore/lands? How long since you cleaned it? Thoroughly. Oil in the chamber? Carbon ring? Load recipe? Velocity? How much is your shoulder growing from new/fired? FL bumped back to?
