Welcome back. Good luck with the sale.
  5. bunch of funny guys. Well, this thread was pretty worthless. Trphyhntr, I was being dead serious. I work with a lot of different Public Safety/LE departments, and DHS & BP a lot. All over the country. Believe it or not, BP has a strong presence on the northern border too. And half of who they catch are from SOUTH of the US border. If you ask an honest question, I will give an honest answer. But I do make jokes a lot too. I was in Alaska this past summer, and I bet there were some up that far.

    Tripod

Vortex. For 15s, you need the one with the Allen head. For 10s, you can use the one with the knurled finger knob. I keep them attached to various optics, and add a Manfrotto base plate to each. It makes swapping optics very quick and easy, like 10 seconds.

Poaching a lion - updated with pics

My my lion tag doesn't say any MATURE my lion, its like saying it is illegal to kill a spike, totally legal just frowned upon. Look at the regs for what a "legal" lion is. "Any lion except spotted kittens or females accompanied by spotted kittens". Not just frowned upon, but in fact illegal.

The Gutless Method with Randy Newberg video

Tenderloins are easy too. After you remove the back strap, find the last rib and cut just behind it. Cut along the underside of the spine and the tenderloins come right out.

    Tripod

I love my carbon fiber Manfrotto. It does not fit "in" my pack, but straps on just fine, lightweight, and sturdy as heck. From sitting on the ground to standing, it easily holds my 15s. But you have to buy a separate head, either a pan or ball head. I prefer pan heads myself. So it can get kind of pricey.

The Gutless Method with Randy Newberg video

Love the gutless method. Used it on my deer and my daughter's elk this year. WAY easier and cleaner. Especially for elk. I used to get bloody up to my shoulders. I barely had blood on my hands with the gutless method.

Pay it forward - I will start

Sooo.....does anyone want to pick up the camo for one of these kids hunts/raffles? I see people posting they wish they had items donated for the events, but no one has asked to pick up the items.

    scope recommendation

Since you did not state a cost cap, or intended usage other than a scope on a classic rifle: I will assume a gloss scope (as matte was not available back in the day) and fairly inexpensive. Weaver K6 Classic, Classic V Leupold VX-1, or VX-2 Bushnell Elite

    lost pack!!

If it was dropped in the city, good luck getting it back. Too many people who would just pick it up and take it. I hope he did not have a lot of high end stuff in it. Watch Craig's List.
