I mean a laser beam, like a storm trooper. Not a laser designator, like Crimson Trace or every bad police/sniper movie! If a laser beam (like a storm trooper) is legal in VA, I have to put in for an eastern whitetail tag! I have to put that on my bucket list..... "Honey, charge the batteries, I'm going hunting!"

A laser would be awesome though! Your setup must be different than mine. I have verified drops with my .25-06 Ackley out to 1360 yards, and .300RUM out over 1500 yards. Great antelope any way you look at it. I can only hope I draw a tag soon. I have got to be close.

8" drop @ 517 yards? Were you shooting a laser? Even with 2" high @ 100 yards, I think you got really lucky hitting that buck with holding on the top of his back. I have some fast, flat shooting rounds, but nothing than even comes close. .25-06 Ackley shooting a 115 Berger VLD @ 3400FPS=1.8" high @ 100, and 25.0" low at 515. .300RUM shooting 175 SMK @ 3200FPS=1.3" high at 100, and 34.4" low at 515. .300RUM shooting 175 Barnes LRX @ 3360fps=1" high @ 100, and 29" low at 515.

I really like Manners, even though McMillan is made in AZ, but I admit I have never had a McMillan....yet. But either one are amazing pieces of tactical or hunting art. I have an H&S Precision and a Bell & Carlson Medalist too. More in a sporter type hunting stock. Both are great for the price point. Glad I could help make your decision clear as mud.

I contacted him a while ago when he had all of the binos for sale asking about scope availability. He is able to get scopes, but not as quickly as he would have liked. So what does he do??? His prices are not lower than a lot of other vendors occasionally sell for, with discounts to certain markets/members that are not posted for all to see. MAP (minimum advertised pricing) is just that. Advertised prices. I know a lot of vendors sell below that price point. Some even lower than Sinwagon1 can offer them at. Look at the clearance of the older Razor HD 5-20. They were selling all over the place for $1300 for a while. But only if you called and asked for that price, or were a member of another website and had a link posted by the vendor. I got my new Steiner T5Xi for well under the MAP, and ridiculously lower than MSRP, which is almost never adhered to. Plus, I would bet a lot of the big vendors get much better pricing from Vortex than Sinwagon1 can, therefore making a lot more money per unit. Just need to be careful posting prices for all to see, and should probably go through PMs for that. Hence why I did not state a price on my original post.

I have never hunted one of these checkerboard sections of private/STL properties, but it was my understanding that if you walked in, you were legal to hunt the STL portions. Yes? No? It is knowing the boundaries that would be extremely difficult. You would need to GPS each section corner and make sure you were on the correct side of the invisible line. Looks like you could almost stay on public land if you went corner to corner within the fenced portion. We will see if the first statement changes this year. I put in for the early rifle bull in unit 10 this year. If I get drawn, I will have to suck it up and pay the ranch fee for the Big Bo....

What is ethical to one is not necessarily to others. Look at shooting 1000 yards, or archery, or electronic calls, or hunting during the rut, or night hunting, or game cameras, or hunting over water, or tree stands, or.......yeah, need I go on? Legal is another matter entirely. If the allegations are true, it is definitely illegal. But so is speeding, texting while driving, littering, shooting a bow in your back yard, etc.

I just wish they would do a similar reticle to the MOA2 in the MRAD version.

You poor guys, getting kicked out of your own homes into the garage. I almost feel guilty about getting an entire room to myself for reloading....almost. Actually, for years, I was banished to the garage too. But when my older daughter got married and moved out......I got my reloading room! (plus, my wife can just close the door when she wants to). I have a bench, a rolling tool box, and a rack of school lockers for all of my stuff, plus a closet for large items like gun cases, tripods, tackle boxes, and clothing, and a cedar chest for all of my camo. It helps with the wife when I keep my room clean and all of my toys put away when I am done playing for the day. I actually have an awesome wife of 23 years (plus another 5 of dating before), who likes antlers and mounts and venison. You should see my TV room! School lockers that are completely full of stuff.
