7mm chambering “issues”
lancetkenyon replied to bowhunter-tw's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I would not bump the shoulder .005". I bump all my brass, both belted and non-belted, to .002" headspace. Almost positive my 7RM are bumped to 2.118" with a 2.120" fired measurement as well using the .420 headspace gauge. -
Brass quality question
lancetkenyon replied to D4HighDesert's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Deep socket slightly bigger than case diameter, and short enough to leave the top 1/3 of the case exposed. Drop the case in the deep socket, which also acts as a heat sink to keep the temps off the head. Then tip it upside down and let the case drop in a SS bowl to cool. No need to quench in water. -
The 162 ELD-M sure fly good. Worked these up today for a buddy in his R700 LR 7RM.

Brass quality question
lancetkenyon replied to D4HighDesert's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I run all my AR brass through a small base die. Even tighter than a typical FL die. But, they feed flawlessly, and with about 8000pcs, not too worried about brass life. -

Brass quality question
lancetkenyon replied to D4HighDesert's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I use Rem R-P brass for my 7RM with up to 10 firings on it & .300RUM, all bought in 1999 with up to 10 firings on it, and .243 brass necked up for my 6.5SLR with anywhere from 3 to 15 firings on it. Almost all still going strong. Only lost a few, and not running mild loads in any of it. I think it lasts better than most of the newer Nosler brass I have tried. -
IMR7828/7828SSC, Superformance, IMR4350, RL19, RL22, RL25

I have 1# unopened IMR7828SSC, 1# unopened IMR7828, and about 1/2-3/4 pound open IMR7828. These are about 10+ years old. No idea what I paid for them. $75 takes it all. I think the RL22 is unopened. Not positive, so not sure if there is 7000gr in it or not. Gotta be close by feel. $30. Superformance feels half full, $10 IMR4350 feels 3/4 full, $15 RL19 feels about 1/2 full, $10 RL25 feels maybe 1/3 full? $10 First come, first served. And I mean physically come and get them. Or at least PayPal the $ for me to hold it. Not "I will take it" and then never show up. -

I figured I paid normal prices for it a while ago, should not charge today's going rate for it. -

No joke, too many times, I have not used something in years. I get rid of it, and within 2 months, need it. Crazy.

Just cosmetic. I have blem brass, and have shot blem bullets. No difference. I would have no issues with them.

Where are you located?

They will look just fine covered in blood and meat.

With current prices, I would think you could get 1k SRPs for 2# Retumbo. Just a suggestion.

Let me guess....some a-hole talked you into a 6 Creedmoor?

What auto powder trickler to get.
lancetkenyon replied to Fern's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
A&D FX-120i w. V3 Auto-throw and Auto-trickler. Not cheap at all, but incredibly accurate and fast enough to keep you busy with very little wait time during loading. Top end set-up for producing bench rest quality charges. Followed by the new RCBS Matchmaster. I haven't used one of these yet, but they have gotten great reviews. -
