I came across a butchered cow this weekend in 21 by the smell. I was glassing and kept getting a whiff of "death". Followed it to the source. Been there for a couple weeks it looks like. Literally millions, if not billions of maggots. I have a pretty strong stomach, but whew! Whoever did it took the quarters and back straps/tenderloins, and the head. Just like a game animal. Smaller black cow, but still way bigger than any deer. I did not probe around for a bullet hole.

I know another muzzy hunter that was after that buck, saw it last on Thursday before the opener. No wonder he hasn't seen it since. I just let him know to go for something different. Congrats on a whopper!

Within 1 mile of any water source. Coyote poop on roads, means they are marking their territory, and that means there are a few coyotes around for them to need to mark territory. Prey animals/food sources. Rabbits, squirrels, javelina, deer in the area mean food sources. They also eat cacti fruit, and mesquite beans. Cover/travel routes. Brushy washes, rocky outcroppings, hills. Close to outlying homes. They love little fluffy cat and small dogs. Easier to catch than wild food sources. Farmland/ranches. Again, farmland means rodents/small game. Ranches mean sheep or cattle, which have calves or lambs. Easy pickings. Areas more commonly overlooked or seldom hunted.

I have hunted predators in Dec/Jan/Feb in 6A up north, and the only roads that I ever found "closed" were due to deep snow, not gates or signs.

For $9, I would just replace it if it were me. My time alone is worth more than that. Eat a PB&J one day for lunch instead of fast food and you have saved enough to cover the cost.

I have (had) a Garmin Oregon 450T. Well, this trip, somehow I cracked the touchscreen, and now it won't recognize the finger contact. Not even sure if Garmin will repair it if I pay. Has anyone done a repair like this with Garmin? Or am I SOL and need to buy a new unit?

Nope. I forgot I was out scouting with you when I called that one in. That was H4350 for another member. I looked through all of my PMs for this one, and have changed phones, so I didn't have the texts. But the member already PMed me and we are meeting up next week to make the swap.

I bought some RL22 for another member a few (8) months ago when he was looking, but he never picked it up. I already have 3# for myself, so I don't need 2 more 1# cans. I am all loaded up for what I use RL22 for, so I am looking to sell these two 1# cans. I paid $33 each, but I will sell for $25 per 1# unopened can. I think I might even have the receipt. I will have to look in the bag though.

I have tried rattling before. Never had much success. Most of the big bucks that already have their harem won't go looking for a fight from what I have witnessed, and will push the does off. They want to keep the does from other bucks, and fight when another buck comes to them.
