lancetkenyon replied to Adicted's topic in The Campfire
Here are the only type of Superbowl squares I will be watching that day. You are free to meet me and pick a square. -
Sell the 1000! I love my 1600b.

Shoot your ladder tests on a fouled bore. Don't clean between shots. I always ladder test at 400 yards. I go up in .5 grain increments. Shoot and mark each shot. Ladder test one powder per target. I usually start at about middle of published load data, and go above max load by 2 to 3 grains. Start at your lowest charge weight and go up, watching for any signs of pressure and stop when you see any.

Good luck everyone. We were going to shoot it on Sunday, but it was crazy windy at the range. Probably a good thing we didn't, because Taylor brought her A game even when the winds hit 20+mph and started snapping off target stands. -
Last chance at a great scope.

Once draw results are out, this will sell quickly.

140 HVLD book max is 2800 to 2875+fps on the top end with a 24". We all know book max is "safe" for liability reasons. I can see 150s be 2750-2800 fair easily. Per the Berger additional data for the 150 Classic Hunter, a lot of those top loads are over 2770-2830fps with a 24" barrel. Take off 30-40fps for a 22.5" barrel, and 2700 should be easily attainable. -

Some of the many iterations of my .300RUM. I think it is a 6 flute 1:12" twist. I can check later. Rock Creek "Sendero" contour 1:10 twist .308 @ 28" plus Badger Thruster brake.

Standard LOP, 13.5". I weighed it before, 2lbs. 5oz. If the R700TI has the same bottom metal footprint as a BDL, it should fit. All LA actions have the same dimensions with the exception of bottom metal. But not positive. You are welcome to test fit. My action was originally a .30-06, and now it n is a .25-06AI. .270 Win has the same parent case.

Do your research. What do you want your safe to do? Keep guns out of reach of kids? Any will do. Keep guns out of reach of thieves? Get a good one. $1k isn't going to cut it.

Posted this on snipershide, so I will do $850 FTF. We will see how long it lasts over there. I hate shipping stuff to unknowns.
