All of those targets are Taylor's groups, and most are at 200 yards. -
Rifle Stock Painting
lancetkenyon replied to lancetkenyon's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Here is a 10/22 stock I have started on. Still have to do the flat black patches after the flat OD dries. This is one of mine for a test stock for a Savage stock. Spots will be smaller, more like the black spots, and more evenly distributed. -

3rd CWT Fun Shoot "Rimfire Roundup" (.22LR Only, 50 Yards)
lancetkenyon replied to lancetkenyon's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I got 20 targets printed out today at work. I am heading out of town to do some work on a cabin but should be back tomorrow afternoon. I will try to get envelopes made up and some targets mailed out early next week. -
If you didn't live in west New Mexico, I would let you borrow one for mock up.

Don't get me started on USPS. They are fine for small items like rings and bases. I have heard a lot of nightmares with big ticket items, and my individual delivery man is a joke. I am currently waiting on 2 packages out of 3 they have botched delivery of. Went down to the post office this afternoon, and they had 1 of the 3. Still missing 2....and they "tried" to deliver on Wednesday, and can't seem to find my packages now. Same with my last 3 deliveries. Pay for 2 or 3 day delivery, and it turns into 5-7 business days, almost every time. At least for me receiving. Even delivery of the last few items I shipped took an extra day or 2.

I showed her this exact excerpt from the UPS website on shipping guns and gun parts.

General Purpose/ Back up Rifle

Great choice. -
I have seen early rifle season temps in the negatives on occasion. I have also seen late season temps in the 60s. Snow in July, and no snow in December. Prepare for anything, you will be fine.

Project "Long Range Loaner" Load Development
lancetkenyon replied to lancetkenyon's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Because this is a rifle for some friends and family that have a hunt I can't go on. And I don't want to loan out a $2000 scope if I am not there to babysit it. I don't mind family and friends using one of my rifles if I am with them on the hunt....because I am there to oversee it's wellbeing. -
$302.00 cash?

The Burris on it has a lifetime warranty. -
Got my blood pumping for my upcoming bull hunt. Cool video.

The 11-10 through 11-13 is a new hunt this year.

Tentatively sold on another forum. Might be last chance if anyone locally wants it before I ship it out of state. Waiting on a 100% commitment. If you want to match the $1300 offer, no rings, it is yours. I hate shipping stuff.

Wait.....I didn't see it show up on my doorstep..... That was quick. Add a nice stock and scope, and go shoot a custom rifle already built without the wait. Someone got a nice barreled action.

Are you in load development mode also.I am ALWAYS in load development stages. Just finished 2, 7RM w. 175 ELD-X and a .300WSM ON steroids w. 168 SMK. Starting 2 more tinkerings this weekend too. Another 7RM load (I can't leave well enough alone) and a 6.5 load trying the 143 ELD-X. -
Action $400 Trueing $200 Barrel & lug $450 Chambering $200 Brake & install $250 Bolt knob installed $80 Cerakote $250 Total around $1700. I would ask $1400 or so if it has bottom metal and a trigger. I think I know this barreled action. And I think it would shoot even better with some handloads. Most popular cartridge going right now too.
