Showoff....... Nice boots by the way.

We have eliminated 6 in the last 3 days on a remote mountaintop job site. 12ga or shovel work just fine.

In depth study on case annealing

Depends on cartridge and how many times the case has been fired. Some FL every time, some neck sizing 2/3 of the time. -
In depth study on case annealing

Yes. I have always done it that way, as the resizing process work hardens the brass, and not always consistently. Annealing softens it back prior to loading. Also, if you need to trim/chamfer, it is easier to do that prior to annealing in my observations. Look at their data of brass hardness. They try different operational steps, and their findings show the same. Shoot, resize, clean, anneal, load... gave them the most consistent brass hardness time after time. Whether loaded 3x or 10x on a piece of brass, this practice was the most consistent. -
Totally depends on the shooter. I have never shot this barrel until hot. It took me 13- 14 years to get where the round count is at. And I normally shoot 2-4k rounds a year of centerfire rifle. This has always been a hunting rifle. Never a rifle I go and shoot for recreation. Load development and fire forming brass took up most of the rounds I have shot out of it. But it has taken plenty of game from prairie dogs, jackrabbit, plenty of coyotes, and several deer. I would think average barrel life for a .25-06AI would be around 1000-1300 rounds. More if you are lucky and are careful like I have been, less if you abuse it and run it hot.

Good read. Technical, but informative. In layman's terms: shoot, size, clean, annual, load. In that order to retain the most consistent neck/shoulder brass hardness and neck tension. -
The bad thing about Vias (I had a KDF which is very similar) is the downward facing ports. They blow dirt, dust, rocks, etc. right up into your optics and face when shooting prone or even sitting sometimes.

Quit your job and go on the hunt. Get your priorities straight. I will PM some info later. Getting ready to go into a meeting. My daaughter took the buck in my avatar ladt year in 12AE.

6-24 without 3x Zoomies (or 5-25)18-72 with 3x Zoomies (or 15-75) So 6-72x (or 5-75) available zoom range.

Man, those look fantastic!

Amateur. I use my 3x Zoomies behind my 6-24×56 Kahles and get an 6-72×56 range available to me.

I work with a guy who knew the deceased personally. We discussed this event as it was happening and immediately after, as my coworker was in contact with people. The family, of course, is not portraying the deceased in an honest fashion. Only highlighting the positive side, not the other 50%.

The SWFA SS 5-20×50HD is surprisingly good glass. It was actually my first higher end FFP tactical type scope. And led me to my addiction. So it is a great "gateway scope", so beware. Features are not the absolute best, no zero stop, 2nd revolution indicator, no locking turrets. But glass is great, turrets track and are repeatable, scope is bulletproof. Find a good used one, and you can get the illuminated version in your price range

I use a set of aluminum trekking poles. Old Black Diamond ones. I have had them for probably 18-20 years. Still going strong. Scarred to heck, but never bent or broke one. Shock absorbing too.

How do you feel about an 8x minimum magnification for hunting purposes?

Burris XTR II 3-15×50, 4-20×50 or 5-25×50 SWFA SS 5-20×50 or 3-15x42 Sightron SIII 6-24×50 Athlon Ares BTR 4.5-27×50 or 2.5-15×50 Bushnell LRS 6-24x50, 4.5-30x50 Leupold 3-15x44 VX-5HD Leupold 6.5-20x50 VX-3i You do not NEED 25x to shoot to 1000 yards, 15x is plenty. But it is nice to have. But your low end FOV suffers at 5x-6x.

Yes, gen 1.

Taylor used my .300RUM for her elk hunt when she was 12. Thinking your contour is pretty light, I like the APA Micro Bastard brake. I have 1 on a 7RM, and putting another one on my 6.5 SS. Both have #3 Bartlein barrels. Badger Thruster is good too, but you can't turn them down to blend that small. I am putting a Hawkins 3 port on my .280AI. There are a few different sizes to blend with various contours.

.257 STW is a great buyer. I have sold a couple things to him. Super nice guy and avid hunter as well.
-
Bump. I will sell individual boxes for $25 each as well.

I have used Barnes on the Bab with good results. Taylor took her buck last year using a 6.5mm 127 LEX driven at 3050MV. Took her buck at 637 yards. Retained MV was probably somewhere around 2060fps with about 1200ft/lbs of KE remaining. Buck dropped in his tracks. Hit the onside shoulder blade, took out the top of the lungs, shattered a vertebrae, and exited leaving about a $.25 hole. I got the opportunity to go test lead vs. Non-lead bullets with AZGFD last year. It was a real eye opener. I think for close to moderate ranges, they are a great alternative for any species and hunting location. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/67198-azgfd-ammunition-testing-event-today/
