I am at 27 BPs for AZ, 4 for WY. I will be back in NM on a landowner tag again this year. Looking for #5.

Looks like that 156 worked wonders!

Not sure how those recordings were taken, but my house got 1.0" according to my rain gauge. A nice, steady 18.5 hours of it. Started around midnight, finally quit about 6:30pm.

Most of the time, there are no fences to separate lands/post. So you better have OnX.

Have you seen the damage that "hunters" do to the Big Bo each year after 5 months of hunting season? Shooting up tanks, cutting fences, tearing up roads, driving off roads and causing land damage, shooting windmills, letting cattle out of unclosed gates or cut fences, leaving tons of trash and litter?? I would close it too if I owned it.

Seems like the Big Bo not signing agreements happens every few years. I have just never heard of the Commission considering reducing tag #s by the amount they are talking about. And only for bulls, which seems like the State is saying, "If we can't use the land, you can't have outfitters paying your fees to guide hunters either. We will take our ball and go home." Because who pays a guide for a cow tag. I would bet the bull/cow ratio climbs like crazy if the draw suggestions do happen. I think it is borderline criminal to allow zero public use of the public lands locked withing the ranch boundaries. It would be interesting if all the AZ STL inside those same boundaries was revoked for running cattle upon. I bet an agreement could be made pretty quickly after that.

For POI (Point of Impact) changes, yes. All my rifles have a POI change when I went from brake to can. Anywhere from .5 to 1.0 MIL (1.5MOA to 3.5MOA). Totally normal. It is the added weight of the can hanging off the end of the barrel. As for velocity gains, I have seen between 15-35fps gains with the can. As for accuracy changes, I saw very little changes. Only had to slightly tweak one load. It was on the upper end of an accuracy node to begin with, and I feel the added velocity is what caused the need to tweak. Dropped .2gr, and back to shooting like before.

I have heard from numerous people that it was a very tough year up on the Bab. I think the biggest buck I have heard taken on the late hunt was a mid-180s buck. Have not heard much about the Strip either. Water everywhere had them scattered, and the big Magnum burn has not recovered enough yet to draw the deer into it. The deer are all in the transition, and that is thick and hard to glass. More like quail hunting, trying to jump a buck and get a good look, then a good shot is hard to do.

Absolutely. If you are only going to have one suppressor, a .308 cal is the way to go. From 17 to .308 and everything in between. I use my Ultra 9 in .308 on my 6 Creedmoor, 25SST, .280AI, 28 Nosler. I use my Dominus in .308 on a 6.5SS 26", 7SS, and will use it on my .260AI when it is done. I use my 6.5mm Ultra 7 on my 6.5SLR, 6.5SS 20", and will use it on my 25 Creedmoor when I build it next year.

I used Mr Silencer in Mesa. Used the electronic kiosk there. You pay for the suppressor when you go in. Then they will send you electronic copies of all your forms. You sign electronically and email back. Rhen you pay the tax stamp electronically. Once all paperwork is done and tax stamp is paid for, they send everything in at once. Then you wait. ATF will send back the approval, and the store can then legally release the suppressor to you. $200 plus doc fees for every can you buy. You can reuse your fingerprints and electronic signature saved in the kiosk for future purchases. I have 3 suppressors now. TBAC Ultra 9 in .308, took 3 months TBAC Ultra 7 in 6.5mm, took 2 months TBAC Dominus in .308, took 9 months

Customer ID, Sportsman's ID, and SS# can all be different. Read the directions. Sound like my chances just went from 1:5,000,000 to 1:3,000,000.

Awesome bull! Congrats to the hunter!

Great bull! Congrats.

20ga O/U.

Six total. I think one for each of the hunt #s.
-
Taylor and I are in. Application fee for every hunt number you apply for, 6 hunt numbers. So up to a $78 application fee if you apply for all 6 hunts. 2 Muley, 2 WT, 2 Elk hunt numbers.

Looks like you could cut it to 20-21" if you wanted to go that far. If that is the dealbreaker, you should rethink.
-
Apparently you have never seen the movies Armageddon and Deep Impact....it could totally happen!

Mike was a good guy. Gone way too soon. I had the pleasure of scouting with him for one of his kid's hunts in 21.

My buddy's Dad just smoked a decent bull in 4B this morning.

So...is everyone that complained in the thread about the special draw going to boycott the draw? Sure would be hypocritical if you apply....🤣
-
Why they call it hunting and not killing. Tough break Travis. I know you put in the time and effort. But sometimes things just go awry.
-
Maybe.... We ruled out LRF, and suppressor.
