rossiranch.... I've seen it many times in the last 5 yrs I have been chasing bucks. but it also has a lot to do with what's around them or whats making them get together.

in my side of town I sometimes see muley bucks with donkeys, I've even put into my search notes... find the donkey = good chance a buck is near. So I'm sure it could be possible to see cues and mule deer together.

yup cowkiller has hunted the zone describing it pretty good.... I forgot to mention the bad from D12, let see in the 4 years I hunted it I've ran into.. drunks hunting, hidden meth labs, guys chasing a buck on a quad until they tired it and then they shot it, wash hunters, naked tweeker in middle of nowhere, guys that shoot towards you even though they see you, 8-10 hunters bunched up hunting 1 wash. It's pretty hardcore in some areas. Good thing that one can use all these bads and turn them into good, just play off of the mistakes they do. I like walking in at o'dark thirty and sit back and watch the show from a distant if I get lucky a buck will swing my way ;-). Don't get me wrong one can walk a few miles and find yourself in a beautiful place enjoying the outdoors to the max. Far from the people and the roads are the giant bucks that roam and only move at night, so I keep trying and enjoy my backyard and make the best of it.

If I see baby "still spotted about 15" tall" fawns during archery season (Oct.) and the gestation period is about 200 days does that put the doe getting prego around April? So would rut be around April them? this is the first time I actually think about rut since BOB brought it up... is it about the same time in AZ? All the bucks I've seen during archery they have a good harem with them and always fawns with them.

D12 is a zone I have been hunting since 2012 when the big game bug bite me, it's been deer hunting on the top of list ever since. Like mentioned above, very hard zone to hunt limited tags available only 950 and the success rate is about 9%, well at least reported kills. DFW is making reporting mandatory next coming year or so. Like the elders told me when I was picking their head, find the water find the deer. this zone is so big it takes a few years to really get to know a section and then still try and find deer in it, I've yet to venture to the area your talking about. I've heard stories of good bucks taken north of the I-10, one day i'll venture that way and check it out myself.

lucky your co-worker didn't say "let me google it" that's the way to go now-a-days if one don't know the answer. Everyone is now instantly smart. darn interweb is changing the world big time.

great looking buck guys, congrats. quick question I've only hunted mule deer never even seen a coues deer alive, so my question is it pretty easy to distinguish them apart out in the field?

man that suxs... for me living in the imperial valley a really good hunting spot for dove, quail, pheasant I always get hit up on forums for info. Some of these guys have actually put in the time and miles to make it out here on there own and scout and what not. I don't mind pointing them in the right direction and it's always nice for them to text or email an invite for me to join them on a hunt. but it does suck when they use your spot and bring the homies with them. I never take them to "the honey hole" but the usual hunting areas that outside visitors hunt during the seasons. good luck bro and we live and we learn.
