Looking at possibly putting in for this 4th or 5th choice. Anyone have any issues here as far as illegals are concerned? How is the hunting? Lots of deer? Mature bucks? Let's hear it. PM me if you want.

Thanks for all of the insight everyone!

Yes!! Can't wait to hear about this more! Safe travels and good luck! -
If it is hot and dry, they will keep hitting water regularly. They also goes where the food is though, so if his food source disappears in the area, so will he.

I haven't shot the elites, but I have shot the Hoyts and PSE. The decree is wicked fast and dead quiet. Draw cycle felt stiff up front to me. The Hoyt defiant 34 shot great as well. The 34 stacks up a bit towards the back, but shoots very well. The liked the normal defiant a lot better and the carbon defiant even more.

I love the FHF rangefinder pouch. Works great with the bino pack and doesn't slide around. Easy access as well. www.fhfgear.com. Here is a review that I did on the bino harness with pics of the rangefinder pouch. http://dialedinhunter.com/fhf-gear-bino-harness-review/ -

Awesome hunt! Seeing that seep must have been the biggest relief! -
Hahaha, what a bummer! That's how it happens though right? When we aren't ready or that one time we forget a key piece of gear. I think that some bucks might just grow one antler, because of genetics maybe? I know I have seen elk with one antler.

Nice write up and awesome buck! Thanks for sharing!

What year, model Kuiu pack? I read they had trouble with the older frames. I believe they redesigned it last year. I just bought the Icon Pro 3200. I had a little trouble with the fit using the tall frame. Now I have the regular size frame and fits me better. The pack looks like good quality materials and assembly. The true test will be when I get it on the trail. It's is a a Icon Pro 5200. Kuiu is going to warranty the frame and give me a new one. Just sent it out to them a few days ago.
-
Has anyone else had this happen?? How did Kuiu treat you if it did? I am running an Exo Mountain Gear now, but sold my brother my Kuiu pack. Little over a year old and he noticed that the frame was cracked. Worse come to worse, he has to buy a new frame.
-
Nice!! Did you go with the 3500 or 5500?
-
It's AMAZING! Simple, but VERY efficient and functional pack.
-
I am currently using a titanium frame. Running the Exo Mountain Gear 3500. LOVING this set up.
-
That's good to know!! Thanks for the heads up. I just sent them an email with a picture of the crack.

Awesome stuff man!! Congrats!

Lets talk sleeping bags for backpacking! Right now, my bag is about 4 pounds. I am looking to get a more ultralight bag. Currently, I am looking at the Big Agnes Bellyache Mountain SL, Sierra Designs Zizzou 12, and the Kuiu Super Down 30. Looking to be in the 2 pound range with temp ratings being between 10 and 30 degrees. I figure I could just add a thermal liner if I was in colder conditions. Anyone with experience with these bags or any suggestions on similar bags, I would appreciate your input on the subject. I also like the Big Agnes Zirkel, but I am a side sleeper so the whole attaching the pad to the bottom of the bag is a no no for me. I am planning on picking up one of the Thermarest NeoAirs as a sleeping pad. Right now, I just have the foam roll up kind. Looking forward to your responses!

Yes, every year. Get out there and give it a go. Brutally hit hunt, but the bears are moving. Find the food and you should find the bears. They don't generally hang out in nice country, so you should be looking where most don't want to go. Good luck.

I just got all tingly when I saw this post!! Shot down!

I just checked my card for the first time. Proud of myself for waiting this long, hahaha. All bets are off now!

Well, that's the most action I've heard!! Haven't heard of anyone actually seeing bears.
