theres nothing we can do. G&F doesnt care what we think, were not their constituants. We're just an antiquated management tool in their minds.

and another thing... lion hunting is on its way out and bear hunting wont be far behind. all we'll have left is javelina... but not archery javelina.

Bend over and take it guys... its our own fault. The good old days are long gone. Remember back when AZ was a great mule deer hunting state. Over. Then it was a great Elk hunting state. Over. Pronghorn? Coues? Sheep? Over.

Spent 13 1/2 hours on stand on Friday. nothing. Spent 14 hours on stand on Saturday. 2 does at 8 am and 1 doe at 5:30 pm The last doe hung around for 20 minutes. Spent 5 hours on stand on Sunday. Had 1 hunter come in at 7:30 am. Not going out this weekend back at it the following one.

My favorite day is just around the corner... The Suburban is almost packed the four-wheeler is loaded. After work this afternoon Im headed out. Tomorrow morning Ill be in the stand waiting for Mr. Big to show himself. The best part about the early archery hunt is that I have 3 tags in my wallet. Turkey, deer and lion. And anything that comes by except for a bear or an elk is available. Even squirrels. Good luck to everyone.

Darn you guys are right. Darn G&F has me all screwed up. Ill have to pass on all those P&Y squirrels now. And if a lion walks by the rule is shoot, shovel and shut-up. Just Kidding. Its going to be a good weekend I can tell.

By the time the second hunt rolls around out there there's a few goat with arrows sticking out of them.

Believe it or not theres a small band of them up here north of Paulden in 19b. Ive only seen one but their tracks are everywhere.

About 3 years ago on that hunt my hunting partner had a pair of Mojaves that were determined to get in the blind with him. At the same time he had a very good buck slowly coming into range. My buddy was actually flinging the snakes out of the back of the blind as the buck approached from the opposite side. In the end the buck changed his angle and wandered off totally unaware of the whole situation. As for the snakes... well it turned out not to be their lucky day.

I met a couple of old timers, years ago, who used to play a game called fins and tails at Lake Pleasent. Whoeverr had the most bass or burro tails at the end of the day was the winner.

With opening day of archery right around the corner, I was just curiuos what products everyone uses to manage their scent. spray on products? clothing? etc.

The old saying "A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush" also applies to deer. SHOOT!

Amanda, Really cool finds. My hunting partner and I have found quite a few Matates in 23. Usually around oak flats. once we found a group of 5 of them in a circle. Sort of like a prehistoric grainery. Thanks for sharing Jeff Falls
