This is where we've been headed for a few years now. The average working hunter who has been the backbone of the game and fish department is being slowly phased/priced out. We'll just be left with the scraps... late december archery cow elk hunts, and october "1000 hunters in the field for a 3 day weekend" deer hunts. The average guy from out of state who'd love to come here for a once-in-a-lifetime elk hunt is screwed. Theres another post on this forum showing the beautiful pictures of our children and future hunters. Whats it going to be like for them?

Sierra Club wants lion tag to auction
4Falls replied to billrquimby's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Upon further reflection my last theory was flawed. Clearly this is all about appearances. SC wants to appear to be saving a lion. The usual cast of characters (predominantly Californ-holes) that are a part of these groups know absolutley nothing about how the tag/draw system in this state works. Ill bet theyve done this in other states like Utah and Nevada. So by doing this SC appears to their members as doing something to protect the fragile mountain lion population of AZ. G&F is seeing dollar signs. They know they get a portion of the auction price for this and that alot more than theyve gotten for previous auctionable lion tags, I'm sure. And at the same time they appear to have a heart to the non-hunting public. -
Sierra Club wants lion tag to auction
4Falls replied to billrquimby's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
They need the tag to perform the auction. You cant auction an OTC tag. And they probably cant find an outfitter to stand with them and auction his services. Therefore they auction the tag and the "lucky" winner can line up his/her own outfitter. I know this seems ridiculous from our stand point but.... them greenies dont never make no sense anyway. -
Other items soon to be banned: Clubs, sticks, blunt objects, rocks, heavy hands, open fists and sharp tongues.

Thanks, got the whole outfit signed up!

Didn't get the Coues tags we were tyring for, but Skeeter and I did get mulie tags in 23.

well put Mike. I hope four years of this b.s. is enough to get this man out. A few weeks ago hes telling college graduates not to go for the brass ring. Now hes on foriegn soil pledging millions so others can come here and grasp the brass ring? Hes telling us that america needs to break its oil habit by converting to solar and wind power. Then tells the world that Iran needs nuclear power? And yet the general population is far more concerened with how his "date nite" went. I just dont get it.

ok i finally found the picture of the wild dog my buddy killed way back in 96. now its on old school film so I have to scan it and get it on here.

Even though this is not my first bull tag in AZ, It could very well be my first bull. Ive been drawn in my favorite unit at my favorite time of year. So well see. last few years while hunting there with friends Ive seen bulls that will make your heart skip a beat. Got my fingers crossed.

Well I listened to two commencement speaches and I for one cannot believe that we live in a country where our President is telling college graduates not to achieve and not to succeed. That the "old" ways that made this country great are selfish and greedy. Shame on him. I am very dissapointed in the hard turn this country is taking. Ive said all Im going to say about it, but Im sure theres plenty of apoligizers here ready to defend him.

Was at the Canyon yesterday and there was a memorium display asking people not to throw coins off the canyon edge because Condor #22 had injested a coin and died. So I guess well have to ban all non-paper money on the Strip as well.

Looks like the bobcats have had enough of us humans and are starting to fight back. At least hear in Yavapai County. Mom and her daughter were attacked in Prescott Valley yesterday. According to the report the PVPD had no choice but to kill the animal in fear for their safety. Watch your backs guys...

Now the lefties are doing all they can to tear her down. "Racy" photos of her are being exposed on the web to discredit and immoralize her even though these same people will put on a pedestal the most immoral in our society. All because they dont like her opinion.

I have a picture, old school film type. Ill dig it up scan it and get it on here for the naysayers. These were all mutt type dogs and not someones hunting dogs who got away. Most likely just strays from nearby housing subdivisions. The one we killed was with three others and they were eating on the gutpile of a cow elk I had killed the day before. We were returning to the scene to retrieve a knife we had left behind.

I was rushed by a wild dog on an elk hunt in 22 once, luckily my buddy was ready and put an arrow through him. Real problem over in that country Coues&Sheep would probably agree. G&F's unofficial policy is "kill them all"

our former governor at work
4Falls replied to .270's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
This morning CNN radio had a different take on this report. Instead of saying "may become" They reported that extreme right wing militia groups ARE recruiting vets. And that the rise in popularity of these groups was due mainly in part because of the race of the President. -

I may not be as smart as Lark, but isnt this profiling? And isnt profiling bad? So the guy in a turban with hunks of C4 taped to his shoe shouldnt be stopped at the airport, but the Sunday school teacher with a "choose life" bumper sticker on her American made SUV, whose husband just got back from his 3rd tour in Afghanistan should be on a terrorist watch list? Excuse me but WTF is wrong here! -
New Rigs??? Archery season is coming!

This year I will be shooting a '07 Hoyt Vulcan at 82lbs, "fobbed" easton arrows, trophy ridge sight, QAD rest, old trusty scott release. Looking to add a Fuse or trophy ridge quiver and am in a conundrum over choosing a new broadhead... -

Once again Mr. Quimby is correct. Mandatory reporting does not equal mandatory truth telling and would not equate to better info for G & F. I know a few guys who fill out their cards as unsuccessful because they firmly believe that G&F will not draw them the following year if they put down that they were successful. Granted, they have no evidence to prove this they are just that paranoid. But it illustrates my point. You probably have guys who always tell G&F they were succesful as well.
