it easy to do... i used a larger tubing cutter (for cutting up to 1 1/2" copper) the legs are aluminum on mine and cut real easy and the tubing cutter will put a nice square clean factory type cut. i cant remember how much I cut off, but when cutting the last leg make sure u leave enough for the rubber feet.

the WM's in the area usuall have a good feel for the deer population in their area. They present this information to their superiors, who promptly file it in the circular file under their desk and make up whatever they want in order to pump as many tags out as they possibly can.

yep thats skeeter... look on the homepage of this website, thats skeeters pick-up.

Covered Cross
4Falls replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
how much further can we be pushed? when are we going to push back? we even stand by while the our "leader" has crosses covered at places where he speaks. disgusting. -
Heres what will eventually happen in the KOFA's. USFWS along with some partner groups, probably The Center for Biological Diversity, Sierra Club and other very well funded "green" groups will force thru lawsuit AZG&F to replace the lion they removed from the area. Said lion will have special protection and federal and state dollars will be spent monitoring the lion and its safety and the safty of its offspring. They will even give the lion a special name, thru a contest by school children in the Yuma area. The dead lion will become a martyr thus opening the door for the end of lion hunting in the state. More federal and state dollars will be spent monitoring the safety of all lions in the state and they will be given special status ALMOST equal to what the wolves get. Not the same because no creature on the planet is more important than a wolf as we all know. Sheep populations will continue to plummet... most likley due to poaching because we all know that lions only eat rodents and the sickest and weakest animals they can find. Lions are after all the true conservationists. Sheep hunting will have to be curtailed until it can be determined what is causing the sheep to disappear. Then deer hunting, then the elk... all falling like dominoes. If we had more lions, and more wolves, maybe add some grizzlies and some more condors to clean everything up we wont need to hunt anymore. What a great plan! Well we might need to import some cheetahs to help with the exploding pronghorn population in the state. Quick raise tag fees while we can to pay for some cheetahs.

For some reason i cant explain Im thinking about applying for a Sandhill permit. Has anyone here ever hunted these birds? Can you offer any insight/information? Thanks.

this is all part of the "opportunity" over quality direction that gf is headed. more and more hunters, less and less game. Look at mulie hunting and antelope hunting as an example. Elk and coues are headed down the same road. All this added pressure has made us turn on each other as well, courtesy is gone. heck during my elk hunt this year it was a foot race to get to the elk first a few times. Compound this with an unusually late rut and you have a recipe for a bad hunt. Mine was a complete dissappointment. If there going to keep these hunts so early Im going back to late archery hunts instead. At least I dont have to wait so long in between tags and its just as easy NOT to kill an elk in Nov as it is in Sept. Congrats to all of those who killed this year, you sure earned it.

might sound crazy to most, but... I had the same issues with my bogen and just took a tubing cutter and shortened the legs myself. Had this 'pod for over 10 years and love it.

Im another who will be FOB-ing a nice bull sometime after Friday morning... with Gods will. Great buck it was a tough year for the archery goat hunters for sure so that buck makes it all the sweeter.

Ok heres the problem. Bow is set up perfectly, tuned, arrows fly like lazers. As long as someone else is shooting it. For some reason when I shoot it it always hits to the left, perfectly in line vertically but always to the left. My buddy says my form is good... so what am I doing wrong?
-
right eye dominant. I want to find the problem in my form instead of changing my sight. It shoot perfect when my buddy shoots it so it has to be a hitch in my form. Im wondering if any of you had ever had something similar and how u overcame it.

What weird stuff have you glassed or happen well glassing for game?
4Falls replied to seek100plus's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Was thinking about this post and realized some stuff thats not that wierd to AZ hunters must seem strange to hunters from else where. Such as: Rocky Mtn Bighorns in the cactus. Desert Bighorn at the lake. Elk in the desert. Pronghorn in the pines. Mulies in the low country. Whitetails in the high country. -

This is an interesting post... Over the years Ive seen antelope in a fight to the death, elk run full speed into ponderosa pines then get up and run off, 3 legged coyotes, javelinas having "relations" which made a herd of cattle run off by the way and people doing things best left for the bedroom. And remember this bit of advice: If your hunting near what used to be Childs, AZ along the Verde River and your buddy tells you theres gorgeous naked girls in the hot springs DO NOT believe him. Yes they are naked but they are not gorgeous and Im almost positive they were not girls. Enough said. But by far the most shocking thing Ive seen was a few years back while archery goat hunting in 19A. Skeeter and I watched two single engine planes bump eachother in mid air and crash into the ground. We were first to the scene, and I checked for survivors. There were none. (details way to graphic) -

Water is one of the reasons I left the Payson area 6 years ago. I sure hope someone figures out how to solve the water problem soon. I feel for you and all my friends and loved ones there.

More important than pears would be the acorn crop in your canyon and the availability of water.
