As usual I have to agree with Bill and Lark. The hosts of these shows are ridiculous. They play right into the slob hunter image that most of the world perceives us as.
-
Theres a few shows and hosts that I like but most of these guys on these shows couldnt find their butt with both hands and a road map. That being said this morning on one of the outdoor networks Boone and Crockett adventures did a show about archery Coues in Mexico which was followed by American Archers show which was about Archery Mulie hunting in Arizona.

Im gonna disagree with Gino on this one. I always approach an area assuming theres a camera and when I find it I cover the lens, do what I do, uncover the lens and go on my merry way. I figure the last thing you guys want is a picture of my fugly mug on your camera, wasting your batteries and spoiling you lunch as your looking through your pics. 23 is notorious for stolen cameras, not sure why. My theory is that all cameras are stolen by other hunters then just reused. Non- or anti-hunters have no real use for the cameras and if they just wanted to mess with a guys stuff its alot easier to disable a camera in place then to go the the trouble of removing it. Sorry to hear about your cameras, if your definately sure you have the guys caught in the act then post them. If nothing else it may make them think twice before they swipe the next guys stuff.

I just purchased a pair of the Minox 15x56 from Cameraland a couple of months ago. Im surprised at your findings. I havent had a chance to use mine in an actual hunting situation obviously but have used them just glassing from my front porch at antelope etc. In the past Ive owned 15's from Steiner, Docter, and Vortex (vipers not kaibabs). The Minox seem to me to be far superior to them especially the vipers which were hard to look through for extended periods. I realize there not the quality of the big three but Ive compared them to a buddies Nikon 12's and we both agreed the minox were clearer and brighter. The issue you bring up regarding quality control has made me nervous though, and I hope they dont let me down on my 6a coues hunt. Think Ill take them out today and give them a real test.

With the archery deer season just around the corner. I was just wondering what some of you guys use for bug repellent? Ive used different sprays and was curious if anyone is using a Thermacell?

I could look at mounts all day. Congrats on your ribbon. -
I know its not a Coues deer, but I was wondering if any of you might have seen or know what is growing on this poor young mulie buck...
-
Thanks AZP&Y, I went back to your post and remembered seeing it before. This little buck is the only affected one Ive seen in the area and was only on my cam 1 day. All of the other deer coming in seem to be in top notch physical condition.

I was there on Saturday. Quite a drive from the hacienda here in Paulden but well worth it.

"The Draw" and a new topic....
4Falls replied to Ace High Benny's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Thought I'd just share a recent positive G&F story. Pulled up on one of my cameras an there was a game and fish truck parked there. Headed in towards the location and met up with him a short walk later. Real cool guy. I know hes rather new to this unit and suspect hes just been out getting to know the area since hes shown up on my cams more than once. We chatted a bit and went on our way. Its good to see theres some new guys coming in who seem dedicated to the dept. and not just using it as a stepping stone to their next law enforcement position. And for the record I've been tag/licensed checked on many occasions never a negative encounter. -
6a october whitetail... gonna feel good to get back there.

my first thought was mange too, but then it appears that he bald spots are only on his face and neck. almost looks like some sort of injury or burn.

Have a plan brewing in my mind to try and sit water during the fall bear season and harvest one with my bow. I have a couple of spots in mind plus a couple more that may have potential. Just wondering if anyone here has been successful with this tactic. Thanks

Drawing Results Contest "OVER"
4Falls replied to Santana Outdoors's topic in Contests and Giveaways!
read the tea leaves and chicken bones, asked the trusty magic 8-ball... no doubt it will be July 22, 2011 at 9:00 am. -
If your planning on buying or building in the Happy Jack area, or anywhere in the rim country for that matter, you will find no better builder than And Son Construction. Ive known Gino and his family most of my life and they are the best people around. Give them a call.

first time I checked that site it said I drew... checked back later and it said I didnt drew. Dang Game and Fish messes everything up. As a rule of thumb results actually post on the G&F website approximatly 5-6 weeks from the deadline for apps. Unless they have to close a unit down then it takes a little longer.

Ok just read the link to the Hills Fire in Flag. They're calling it suspicious. What kind of POS person would purposely start a fire like that in a residential area knowing that resources are depleted. All the fires burning now are human caused. Does this sound suspicious to anyone but me?

I just cant take anymore of this on the news. Very sad situation for all the people of Arizona and my prayers and thoughts go out to all the families affected. God Bless.

Just ordered a pair of 15x56 Minox through Cameraland. They arrived quickly and perfectly. Thanks you guys. Your the best.

Theres no stopping them. You can legislate away ATV's and they'll keep doing it. You can legislate away picking up sheds and they'll still do it. You can even legislate away our rights to be on public land and they'll still do it. They're the insecure greedy types who will do anything to get more horns than you and kill better critters than you, and then turn around and go out of their way to keep you from finding a horn or shooting a trophy buck. And they are everywhere.

Its unlikely G&F can do anything to prevent this. Its just the next domino to fall. Most of the northern half of 19b is very difficult to access.

Good show. Its always cool to see familiar places on television. I had thought that a friend of mine was going to be on the show, but guess he didnt make the cut.
