I have my eye on a used Remington 700 bdl in 7mm rem mag. Other than the obvious things one would look for, is there anything else in particular? Is there a rule of thumb as to quality of the barrel etc?

Some big dead rutty late archery and rifle buck pics should start showing up.

well it wasnt pretty but we got it done. Arians and his coaching crew, especially Bowles, are amazing. But where do we go from here? Luckily we get a long week, and get a few guys back.

Oops I'm not on the book of faces. Sorry. Good luck hope you get what your after.

Yes. Grunt tubes and rattling both work. But it helps if you already know the deer are there. To be honest ive called in more does than bucks with rattling.

We may have to compare scores someday. I was under the impression I was the worst javelina Hunter in the state.

Hunt for More #15 **40 Desert Bighorn Rams & then Popeye
4Falls replied to CEI's topic in CEI Outdoors Blog
Awesome video. Thanks. -
Have any of you done this hunt successfully? Have any pictures to share. I'm thinking about giving it a try this spring.

Interesting topic. Elk have been witnessed on Mt. Graham. And decades ago didnt they find one dead near Gila Bend? Furthest north Ive heard of Javelina is unit 9. But it seems they could do well from Kingman north.

2014 Arizona Unit 22 Desert Bighorn Sheep Harvest Report
4Falls replied to Jay Scott's topic in Jay Scott Outdoors/Colburn and Scott Outfitters
I really like the look of the ram you call white eye. I like when their horns are all beat up like that. Ok, Yes or No question... is the auction tag holders ram still in 22? -
There's Danner, but only about half of theirs are made here. And I'v heard just as much bad about them as I have good. Are there any other american made brands that are suited for southwestern type hunting? i.e. lots of rocks and cactus and steep canyons.

Dont know if any one here is familiar with this area but on east Verde Ranch road, east of Paulden, Arizona there is a dilapidated metal structure. It actually looks like and old gas station but I dont see where there were fuel tanks. I had a picture but now cant seem to find it on this computer. Has anyone ever seen this thing and do you know anything about it? It just made me curious. Thanks

Ideas on conserving our game.

Mulepackhunter hit the nail on the head. Especially the part about clear cutting and more fires. Mandatory reporting is a good idea too but a lot of guys would lie on thier reports (I have family in NM where reporting is mandatory, they firmly believe that if they tell g&f that they were successful that they wont get drawn the next year. Even though they dont get drawn every year anyway, go figure). Sitting out a year after a premium tag or ANY antelope tag since they are pretty much all premium is also a good idea. And of course water water water. 8 is a good example there are also quite a few volunteer built trick tanks in unit 8. They should just give a lion tag free with every combo license and any out of state license.. Also I'm not a fan of point restrictions. Ive hunted a few times in NM which has a 3pt on one side or better restriction and I dont see that it has made their herd any healthier than ours. Unless your a forkie. -
They are the definition of implosion.

AZGFD Commission changing elk structures!!!
4Falls replied to bowhunter4life's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
i looked at the recomendations for next year and there's a slight decrease in archery bull tags as well as a decrease in elk tags in general. Didnt see anything about earlier muzzy hunts. -
Love my old Eberlestock. Probably overkill on most outings but its tough as nails and carries everything.
-
awesome ram. congrats.

Leftover tag success in the 17's, 19's and 20a.
