Every hunting story I have, including the successful trips include the words... "this is where I totally F'd it up..."

Well today ain't happening due to work. One last swing at it tomorrow. Next year maybe I'll just hire a guide.

Good info to keep in mind Craig, Theres so much to document when were out there. As a kid we NEVER had a camera with us. The old man didn't see the importance of it and to him film was to expensive to waste on stuff like that. So no pictures of my first deer, no pictures of a father/son trip to Wyoming to hunt antelope. Sometimes mom would snap a few of a dead critter in back of the truck or on the driveway. As I got older I always carried a camera, but most of the time in was stowed away in a pack and not available when the sunset hit that perfect spot or the occasional Yeti sauntered by. Now a days we all have our smartphone/cameras at the ready and I keep a good point and shoot in my front pocket. Thanks for sharing

I have a vintage Remington model 721 that belonged to my dad. Originally it had a weaver k4 scope. When he could no longer see the crosshairs he replaced it with the cheapest POS Walmart scope he could find. I'd like to put this rifle back to work, but will be replacing the optic. Any recommendations for something that would not look too modern but still provide good clarity and functionality? Either fixed or variable.

Great pictures... Try not to blink your eyes otherwise they grow up. Too cute how your other little one is in the background with his ears covered while sister is about to lay the smack down.
