    home brews

There is a ton of info on pixcontroller.com, but they no longer sell their control boards. I have had good success with the Yeticam.com control boards. I also know that the snapshot sniper control boards are pretty good. I am building 2 right now that I am using yeticam boards with sony w80's. What camera are you planning on using?

    Shooting Input Needed

Last year I had a similar problem. I figured out that my nock point was inconsistant. Inside of my string loop, there was too much space, and sometimes my arrow was nocked higher than other times. Easy fix, just figured out the right nock point, and shortened the space inside the loop. I was surprised at the difference 1/8 of an inch at nock point could make 50 yards down range.

It is a homemade camera, either a p41, or w80 I believe. I asked my uncle for coordinates so I could go lion hunting, but he wont tell me the location...
  6. Quiet Sun May Trigger Global Cooling Tuesday, May 05, 2009 The sun sets over Welsh mountains in a December 2008 file photo. Could reduced sunspots be tied to temperatures on Earth? That's what has astrophysicists and meteorologists wondering as the sun enters a prolonged "quiet period," a deviation from the usual 11-year sunspot cycle in which the dark blobs on our star's surface ebb and flow, reports National Geographic News. And there may be a link to global warming — or, in this case, cooling. Current theories link an earlier solar quiet time to the "Little Ice Age," a cold snap that lasted from about 1300 to 1800 in Europe and North America. During such "solar minimums," as they're called, the sun dims a bit, magnetic activity is reduced and solar storms are fewer. No one knows how long each will last until it's over. The Maunder Minimum, a period of extremely low sunspot activity from about 1645 to 1715, coincided with the coldest part of the Little Ice Age, when Dutch canals regularly froze during the winter. This past January, the Dutch canals again froze, for the first time in 16 years. Related StoriesUnusually Quiet Sun Means Less Trouble for Earth Solar Wind at Lowest Levels in 50 Years Scientists Debate Sun's Role in Global Warming But scientists say it may be too early to tell if this solar minimum will really have a prolonged effect. "There are many uncertainties," Jose Abreu, a doctoral candidate in Switzerland, tells National Geographic News. "We don't know the sensitivity of the climate to changes in solar intensity. In my opinion, I wouldn't play with things I don't know."

I am hoping someone else on here that uses the same cd program might be able to burn me a copy of their #5 cd... If anyone is willing to help, please let me know. Thanks, Darren

    Yamaha Rhino owners

Yamaha Rhino Off-Roader Recalled After 46 Deaths Thursday, April 02, 2009 WASHINGTON — Yamaha Motor Corp., USA recalled about 145,000 off-highway recreational vehicles for repairs Tuesday after three models were involved in 46 deaths. The two-passenger vehicles are designed for drivers over 16 years old with valid drivers licenses, although some reported deaths involved younger children who were passengers or who operated the vehicles against recommendations, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, which announced the recall. All Rhino 450, 660 and 700 model vehicles were recalled for repairs designed to prevent accidents that resulted in 46 deaths and hundreds of injuries. The reported deaths occurred from the fall of 2003, when the vehicles were first distributed, through this year. More than two-thirds of the incidents were rollovers. According to the CPSC many of these involved turns on level ground at relatively slow speeds. A number of incidents also involved riders not wearing seat belts. "These are incredibly large and disconcerting numbers," said Rachel Weintraub, director of product safety and senior counsel for Consumer Federation of America. "It certainly is showing an alarming pattern of deaths and injuries, which is of grave concern." The repairs are designed to reduce rollover risk, as well as to improve handling and keep riders' limbs inside the vehicles. "The safety of our customers drives everything we do at Yamaha and today's announcement by the CPSC about Yamaha's free repair offer ... reflects this commitment," company spokesman Van Holmes said. He added that the reported incidents represent less than 1 percent of Rhino users. Owners of the recalled Rhino models should stop using these vehicles and call their local dealer to schedule an appointment for repairs. They can also receive a free helmet. "I strongly encourage owners ... to get these repairs as soon as possible," CPSC acting chairwoman Nancy Nord said in a statement. "In the meantime, safety dictates not to use these vehicles until the repairs are made." Yamaha encourages Rhino users to follow safety guidelines included in the owner's manual and on warning stickers. Sales of these vehicles have also been suspended for repairs. This is the first government recall of this category of recreational vehicle.

    Rage Broadheads

I drew a bull tag this year as well, and there is no way that I would use a mechanical head. I have no experience with the Rage head. Darren

    Broadheads for elk?

I also love the shuttle t's, they are great. I shoot both the shuttles and G5 Strikers. Both heads fly just like my field points, and are extremely sharp. They have both brought down more than one elk. A couple years ago, I experimented with several different broadheads, and found that these two heads flew perfect out of my bow. I shoot a Mathews Switchback XT at 70 #s.

    Looking for ideas

There are a couple nearby states that sell over the counter elk tags I believe. Or call up Lance, he is apparently dying to take some others out after some more up north.
  15. well, the AZGFD uses trik tanks all the time...just make something to collect rain water and fill 'em up... If you are in the woods near happy jack, i suppose there are places you can find a small seep, or spring to collect from.

    They are up!!

My guess would be that when the draw is conducted, those drawn are not issued a tag immediately, just a #. Then, when the draw is complete, maybe an alfabetical list of those drawn for that hunt is generated and tags issued by number from A - Z. That would explain you and your wife with the same last name getting consecutive tags. I wonder if anyone else has had this happen? Or, maybe someone has had the opposite happen, and a husband & wife or kids drew the same hunt and had non-consecutive tags?
