maybe try controlling your breathing as you get ready to shoot. Sometimes it helps to focus on something like that to take your mind off of thinking about the shot. Are you shooting a new setup? Your experience should tell you practice makes perfect. more practice = more confidence = less panic ... maybe. good luck, hope you get it figured out.

Wear a gorilla suit next time you visit so he can have some pics of a Yeti, and wait for news to get out as he announces it to the world, then you will be able to find out who it is and tell him to move his camera.

Smaller bull is probably close to 340. Larger bull closer to 360. Good luck killing either one.

Way cool! Great pics and what a sweet bull.

Yes! THANK YOU very much !!!!!!!! Great meeting you. Just trying to keep this mountain safe for all to enjoy. It was great meeting fellow members. Just wish we could have done it under differrent circumstances!!! CP, it was great to get to talk some hunting with you this weekend....but the side of the road wasnt the best locale!! If you are ever in the verde valley, look me up, I owe you lunch. Amanda, it was nice to finally meet you and visit this weekend. As for the bowshoot itself, we had a great time, just challenging taking kids shooting in all that rain. Guess when they say "scattered showers", they mean nonstop rain everywhere there is a 3D bowshoot...

The fam and I will be staying in Greer all week as well. The kids and I will be there to shoot friday and sunday. It is always a great time, the kids love the ski lift I think more than the shooting. Darren

Did anyone else see the Factor last night? Several things were brought up that no one else has brought up about the immigration law in Arizona and the federal immigration laws. The Arizona law is clear that only after the police are involved with a person can they ask about immigration status. Federal law, as determined by the Supreme Court in 2005, states that the police may stop anyone, at any time for the sole reason of determining immigration status. The police, Border Patrol, or Sheriff's office can pull over a vehicle, or stop anyone for no other reason. The new law in Arizona is not nearly as strict as existing federal law. Which proves to me that all the uproar and boycotting and denigrating of Arizona is all based on politics. It also proves the power of the lame stream media in influencing opinion. Good for Arizona for finally dealing with a difficult but important issue, and for forcing the feds to deal with it as well. I just hope that AZ has the guts to either pull the plug on LA's electricity, or raises their rates to make up for the huge losses from their boycott. TwoGuns I know this issue is being beat to death, but I thought this too amazing not to pass on.

My brother blew up his legacy limbs and needs to replace them. I am hoping someone out there has a set. Looking for #50-60lb limbs hopefully. thanks
-
Thanks to Otdrsman, I got the limbs I needed. Thanks a ton Paul. Darren

ya thanks BJ... I appreciate it. And my bro was totally happy with the quiver I got from you. It will work perfect, except now the limbs are toast. Hopefully will have new ones soon.

You might not need to do anything different than what you are already doing. Elk are tough for sure, but todays bows are pretty good at creating kinetic energy. Just be sure you are accurate and your set up is reliable, since the last thing you want it to draw back on a stud bull and have something go wrong... I shoot a mathews switchback xt at 72 lbs with a 125 grain shuttle-T head and have seen my arrows blow through elk pretty easy. But believe me, most important is what YOU do and where YOU put the arrow when it counts and my guess is that no matter your set up, it will be deadly. IMO

gamehauler, i just bought a Canon XS DSLR camera from Cameraland. they have a pretty good deal going right now. I got the camera with two lenses, including a 300 mm, a memory card, and camera case for $625. The camera is awesome for an entry level SLR. Hope you find what you are looking for.

I got the spitfire last fall and love it. It is really compact and lightweight and loud. It seems to work great for me and as for the remote transmitting distance I have not had a problem getting set up far enough away. My wife bought mine on allpredatorcalls.com for $200. Also, it may be the only thing still made in America...I think you would like it.

Doug, great pictures as always. What camera do you use? And how much was your new wide angle Tokina lense? I recently bought a Canon DSLR from Cameraland and have been looking for a good macro/wide angle lense. Darren

Strangest thing that has ever came into your call???
TwoGuns replied to lionhunter's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
Game and Fish let my dad off, with no ticket, but they had to confiscate the lion. They determined that it was self defense...not too hard to determine since it died only 5 feet from where my dad was sitting. They also said that the department has changed its stance on game violations such as this. They used to prosecute anyone who made a mistake, but they were getting a lot of bad publicity and turning a lot of honest sportsmen into criminals. Now they judge each case and determine if it was truly an accident or self defense then they will usually let it go. Figure that is good of them to not be so hard line. turns out the cat was about 100 yards away when they started calling. she was sitting on a deer carcass. -

called in a mountain lion last year in the first 15 seconds of stand...charged full speed straight at my dad...dad spun with his rifle and dropped it within 5 feet of him. It was over in less than 30 seconds. here she is...what an ordeal....no tag, G&F officer, investigation, blah, blah, blah. ruined a great day of calling. -
Man, these are too funny...
