I don't have a specific hunting line up but I'm totally on board with how terrible today's "country" music is. Here are few worth checking out for you other modern country haters out there. Ryan Adams - Come pick me up ( or any other song he sings) Dustin Kensrue- pistol Chris Knight - it ain't easy being me Jason Boland Justin Townes Earle Robert Earl Keen Cross Canadian Ragweed Pat Green - ( the older stuff is better ) There are a bunch of other ones I'm forgetting right now too. And just because they haven't been mentioned, you can put on pretty much any album by The Kings of Leon and never have to skip a song.

Last Saturday we had whitetail bucks chasing does all over the mountain side. It was hard to figure out how many bucks we actually saw because they were all running in circles all around us!
-
What a fun hunt! clifhunter forgot to mention that he hammered that buck at 700 yards and we had about a 10 yard tracking job to do! It's always nice to hunt with someone that shoots like that!

Just stopped by the Tucson office, two hour wait... Looks like I will be paying extra and not hunting tomorrow! It's my own fault but still sucks!

I thought Inception was a pretty cool flick. It made you think a little bit and was at least an original idea.

My dad dropped my Swarovskis on his hunt in November and knocked something loose so that the eyes didn't focus together. I called Swarovski and they said send them in and I would get them back in 4-6 weeks. I had them back in two and a half weeks, and they cleaned them up, fixed the focus and I think they replaced my eye cups as well. I was definitely happy with the service I got and all it cost me was shipping and insurance to get them to Rhode Island, they paid shipping to send them back

Somehow we misplaced my brothers tripod while hunting in 30a this weekend. I believe it's a vanguard brand. If anyone comes across it or has any info I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

$500 REWARD 128" antlers stolen, please help this young lady
ylclaret replied to gotcoues's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Hopefully somebody took in order to surprise her with a sweet shoulder mount!? Probably not but never hurts to hope right? -
I think just as many big coues deer got taken 30 years ago as do today, however information wasn't as easily shared. I think we just see more of the big deer now because it is so easy to share pictures, through text messages, Facebook, this site etc...

Anyone have pics of bucks from 36A?
ylclaret replied to JNATH26's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Oh man, I'm dying over here. I love 4x4 coues and that buck the young fella is holding makes my mouth water! -
Yea, I don't personally know the shooter. Apparently the shooter I a friend of a friend of my friend... So I'm not comfortable making that post without consent.

Haha! I got a picture to, story I heard was it came out of 35a. Funny how the stories get so twisted. Of course it could be that the actual hunter doesn't want people to know. At any rate it's an amazing buck.

My dad dropped my 15x swaros on his hunt today and they are out of commission. He wants to buy a pair of glass for me to use until we get mine fixed. Let me know what you guys might have available. We are in Tucson so the closer you are the better but if you're in the valley we can still make it work.
-
We might consider that but he wants a pair for himself anyway so we'd prefer to find a pair for sale if possible.

My dad and uncle managed to get left over 34a tags from the mail in left over drawing. It just so happened that opening day also happened to be my birthday, so my birthday wish to glass up a buck and get my dad his first coues deer. I started hunting more seriously about three years ago and in that time I have glassed quite a few deer but I still hadn't glassed a coues buck myself that was successfully harvested. So we started the morning nice and early, and my dad, uncle, brother and I pulled up to the parking spot near our glassing point about an hour before first light. We are getting ready to hike up to our glassing point and I ask my dad, do you have your tag? "Oh, s#!+" he says.... Left it home! Oh well, my uncle had a tag so we decided to go ahead and just try to fill his tag. We were in position at our glassing point about 15-20 minutes later. Got set up, and waited for the sun to get the game started. About a half hour after first light I glass a buck up on a mountain about 1200 yards away, and then I see that he isn't alone! 2 bucks... If only we had two tags! As I am trying to show my uncle the deer through my swaro 15's the bigger beds and disappears, but I got back on the glass just in time to watch the other buck bed and fortunately I can still see his head. So we make a plan that my dad and I will stay on the glass and my brother will take my uncle on the stalk. About an hour later they are in position, 200 yards from the bedded buck. Some coyotes start going nuts in the valley below and the buck gets a little nervous and stands up. I'm thinking to myself, shoot, shoot, shoot, and all of a sudden the buck flips around and runs about ten yards. I'm thinking, oh no, did he wind them?!? No I think he shot... And then I finally hear the report from the rifle. Uncle mike shoots again for good measure but this time is a little high, and right after I see the rocks explode above his buck the other buck jumps up and trots up over the hill. I look back and see our buck hit the dirt and start rolling down the hill and then we hear several shots from just over the ridge where the other buck had gone. We pushed the bigger buck right into some other hunters laps! The mountain they bedded on must have been 60 degree incline or better, it was so steep that the pack out was easier than the hike up! We ended up helping the other hunter get their deer out as well because they couldn't get their truck as far back down the road as I could so we got to take some pictures of both bucks. So I didn't get to help my dad get his first coues but I did finally have a successful harvest and man did it feel good! Here are a few pics. Hope you enjoyed the write up! The first two pics are my uncles deer, then the two bucks together and the last is the one that got away (from us anyway!)

Left over buck and a hunting first for me.

Haha! Good to know we aren't the only ones it happens to! The funny thing is my brother handled all the leftover apps for my family, since I had drawn in the initial drawing. Out of the four apps he put in for left over 34a tags his was the only one that didn't get drawn! It's ok though, he ended up with a 30a tag so we will be learning some new country! -
Awesome! I knew your daughter had got one down but you didn't mention that you had too. Great work and congratulations!

San Carlos Unit B.....MONSTER!!!!!
ylclaret replied to Apache7mm's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I was kind of thinking the same thing. Look at the size of his body! No matter what though, awesome buck... If its a hybrid that makes it cool just by itself, and if its not then that is a huge coues deer! Stud buck, either way. -
Maybe a it's a Wyoming farmer and that's actually a sheep track next to it???? ( no offense to any actual Wyoming farmers)

There may be some truth to that but I've never hated another hunters long eye guarded forky nearly as much as I hate the mustard and rust.

So where was it??? I do stuff like that all the time. Drives me insane! Beautiful bear by the way...

Oh man, that 4x makes me drool. I think a typical 4x coues is just about the coolest deer on the planet.
