Doug, You came to "town" and didn't stop in and say hi? This last week has been amazing for viewing the canyon with all of the clouds. The next time you come thru give me a shout and I'll see if we can get you on a plane tour for good views. monty

It rained off and on yesterday in Tusayan, then last night around mid-night it started and stopped around 5:00am. At 1:00 pm today Tusayan got pounded! I was up at Lake Powell/Page today working and at 10:00 am it came down like nothing i had ever seen. There were 20-25 waterfalls dropping off in to Glen Canyon. Azsagebrush

Today around noon I seen an AZGF pulling a flat bed trailer thru Tusayan with supplies for trick tank, I went out on the f.s. road 328 just north of Tusayan on the west side and there was a RMEF banner hanging from a fence. Does anyone know where the water project is taking place? There was a good size camp across the train tracks but nobody was there to ask. Azsagebrush

Tusayan got just over an inch on Friday afternoon and Sat. evening. the roads are not bad at all on the rim road and the upper basin. i was shocked that the only water in the basin was at sand tank and there is not much there. i did not go to the 77 bar ranch or the tanks near the ranch. We woke up to 4-5 inches of smow this morning in Tusayan and it is still snowing as of 4:00 am, isn't the middle of May? My friend in Flag said they had about the same. So much for shed hunting today Azsagebrush

the fire was about 2 miles from my house and the entire day today there was very little if any smoke. i talked to the helicopter crews from news channel 3, 5, and 12 this afternoon at the grand canyon airport and all 3 crews said the exact same, very few flames and some white smoke. they also said that the fire crews have a fire line dug around the entire fire. the 688 and the 302 roads are closed. azsagebrus
