I have been hunting 5bs and 22 since the 70's very surpised you would go 22 over 5b,yes there is more of a crowd in 5b but look for new areas. on a normal year with an average rut you should be able to find many,many bulls around the 300 inch mark.the last 3 hunts i have been on or helped we where over 25 bulls in bow range. on each hunt,not sure where you hunt but stay away from Hutch or cow hill just to many hunters.

Number one is to know where the bulls are this time of year,number 2 is if you know wait and let them drop most people can't wait yes they do find some but if most could wait they could really kick butt,about the time I think I have figured it out I realize I haven't, good luck. Seldom Drawn

Have you been to the optometrist? You might have cataracts. I've noticed that my eyesight isn't what it used to be and last year during a checkup the optometrist told me I have them but just not far enough along to warrant surgery. My eyes are going bad ,but I had them set up next to my new 10's and my spotting scope,and they didn't compare to the others Have you looked thru the new 15's?

I Never said it was easy to kill a 100 inch buck on these hunts of course you have to put in the time and have luck on your side.I take people every year that have hunted 20-30 years and don't know a lot about hunting it's amazing.men and women,without others helping they are lost.I would love to see a pic of your awesome 120 inch buck.

because you get killed by drug smugglers on the border. you aren't scared so why are you worried.I will hunt down there if i want to I just wont take my kids or grandkids ,I don't care to hunt cows deer anymore.so i could careless to go down there.

I will continue to wait out an early archery bull tag. I realize that I'm not in the bonus pass with only 4 points. I'm just hoping to better my odds in the 80% pass so that's why I was asking about the quality of the 11M hunt. It looks like this unit has a good balance of decent draw odds and decent hunt success. 11m can be good if you know where to look i live on the border of 7w and 11m ,i see some good bulls my buddy's dad missed the 440 bull that was taken last year 2years ago at 35 yards,' but 11m can be tough if you can't spend time here,

i have friends that drew the 18 multiple units this year and killed 4 bulls,biggest was 350 smallest was a 5x5 what a hunt.

Put in for the nov archery hunt,if you know the unit, otherwise you will struggle, my friends kill some awesome bulls during this hunt they just don't care for hunting forums to post them up.with 4 points you should have know trouble getting drawn.I had a early archery tag this year the 2 best bulls i hunted were in the 370-375.they hunted the same unit and found 3 bulls bigger then i could find during the rut. I know there are limited tags for these hunts but for this kind of money why not just put in for left over tags down south and scout I know it's easier to kill a buck on these hunts because of less pressure,I have never seen a giant killed on these hunts other then the natives you can kill a 100 inch buck in units 29 to 36 units pretty easy in oct.nov or dec.if you scout so why all the fuss just asking not trying to piss anyone off but other then a extra chance to hunt why do it.Heck Snapshot kills them with a recurve, so why do so many people want this tag? if you can't kill a 85 inch buck in any unit down south you aren't walkin, know need to keep it a secret emr,it's been awesome for the 35 years.I have been going down there if you aren't seeing 3 to 4 bucks a day and 20 illegalls your in the wrong spot.and this is on an oct hunt nov and dec is unbelivable for finding bucks,.and lion and bear hunting on these hunts can be amazing.but usally the bear quota has been met.

I wouldn't burn them on a archery tag, go rifle kill a big buck then start putting in for archery. Seldom Drawn

I have 10-42 hds and 15-56s wait for the new ones and pay the extra $900,I had both set up along with my Spotting scope the 15's in my mind were so bad I sent them back to have them looked at they told me there is just no comparison to the hd glass, nothing was wrong with the 15's the hd just blow the old ones away.I am getting them back next week and they are going up for sale you might also want to look at the 12-50 glass they are amazing as well, Seldom Drawn

Archerman no dis respect,but I hate this saying so many people say it, what about the expeirance of a elk hunt in the rut for 13 days the bonding you can have with your family and friends all the up close calls with rutting deer or bugling bulls you don't have to harvest to have a great hunt,.you pass it on the first day to learn more about how to hunt the days away from home the time with friends or if your solo that can tell you what your made of a lot of hunters can't camp on there own then if you don't get anything shoot a meat buck the last day or 2.this has to be the dumbiest saying i have ever heard most people that say are newbies or long time hunters that have a hard time killing.if you are a meat hunter shoot whatever on the first day.if you have shot a lot of animals you can get tired of killing i have thats why i don't shoot much anymore.

When I was younger, I didn't care about antler size once in a 12 year period I shot 12 bucks and 12 javelina i never shot a spike but if you aren't looking for a buck to mount and just want meat smoke him but, on the other hand with that much time if you kill him early what are you going to do with all that free time.there is nothing like stick and string in the rut.it's funny how old i feel i use to shoot anything with my bow but now in the last 15 years i have passed on over 250 animals with my bow, go with what your heart says.good luck. and if you haven't already get off the base, there are some great bucks less then a couple of miles from there, Seldom Drawn
