Doug, At Cameraland use to sell Minoxs 10-42's for $129.00 with a lifetime warranty,I bought 3 pair to lend out and gave my son a pair, there are really clear, if you only hunt a little 10-15 days a year they will last you several years, I had to send 2 pairs back but they replaced them for free.

+1, Don Martin, might be a great guy to talk to as well.

15d is pretty easy for a 160 inch Ram.22 can be tough the thing about sheep it's all about scouting, you spend 4 months looking for them find the one you want,it's usally not much of a hunt in most units they are very tame very easy to get in bow range 6a with max points might be a great choice you can normally walk right up to them and take there picture,I would go with 6a you can kill a monster ram there.

So a couple months ago I asked, why pay so much and wait in line for a San carlos deer tag, when you can shoot a great buck down south, with a leftover tag,If you want to deal with the drug smugglers,.lets see all the pics, Hoss killed a good one did anyone else? Looks like he might have been guided by a Native, any diy hunters kill anything over 110?

When I was 11 or 12 we would walk through town carrying are 22 lr's to go shoot rabbits, and in High school we would keep are guns on the gun racks in our trucks back window, times sure have changed. Wendt, It's almost impossible to find 22lr here in Flagstaff ,but if i find some cheap i will pick some up for you if you want.

Paying for a San Carlos Tag

My son in laws grandpa has a big ranch in Mexico I could never bring myself to shoot one it's like shooting cattle, how much did you pay to not kill in Mexico. If I were you I wouldn't book with whoever you did, no hunting pressure there what so ever, did you see pics of previous kills on this ranch.are you a newbie to hunting how many years have you hunted cows deer. And you could spend $2,000 dollars scouting southern az and kill a 100 inch buck. Like shooting cattle? Really man that is a bit of a stretch. After hunting Mexico for over 8 years I can tell you it's still hunting and there is no guarantee if you want to kill a big buck. Also AZbowhntr is far from a newbie and he had personally killed a great buck on the exact same ranch the previous year along with several other great bucks taken during the time he was there (pictures and story are posted on this site). It cracks me up that you seem to be a resident expert on everything from hunting MX, the San Carlos, Southern AZ, as well as all of the Northern units. Obviously everyone has their own opinions and experiences in which they pull from when viewing or discussing something but you seem to express yours in a negative manner to just about every post you respond to. Unfortunately it is responses and posts such as this that make this great site less enjoyable. My opinion anyway........Just like I should probably have kept my mouth shut and not posted this I don't see the point in posting something that degrades or talks down to the previous poster. I am no expert buy far I just have hunted more in 10 years then most will hunt in there lifetime,I am sorry if I hurt your feelings that wasn't my intent,I decided when I was a kid i would learn the whole state the best I could How many units have you or your friends killed in 30?,40?more?if you really think hunting Mexico is as hard as AZ, good for you there is no pressure there what so ever.are you an advid bowhunter or just a rifle guy.this is a great site if you don't like my posts don't read them,it is amazing to me how sensetive grown men can get when there fellings get hurt.good luck to you in the future.may Mexico be great to you. -

Hoss, My old friend Zapata, use to cook for a lot of camps for the Steven brothers with there family, and clients I saw a lot of pics and mounts from there family and clients they have killed some monsters, many many over 110.looks like you are one of the next Guides to kill some big ones. it's awesome you love it so much.good luck in the future I have spent 35 years on the res, it is amazing country. -
Sweet, Great job your pic looks like the lower flats in unit 10, most of the big time outfitters couldn't find a bull of this caliber last year, with all the moisture, they really struggled in 9 and 10 great job. I didn't read all the post's so I don't know if you said where you killed it ,I just spend a lot of time hunting my guess is unit 10.

I know Hoss is a guide, he had more to do with this kill the the guy that killed it,the biggest I heard of killed other then this buck ,was 109 that to me seems like a h@ll of a lot of money for a buck you can kill with a left over tag down south. Hoss, Thanks for your response, not really sure why out2hunt said way to keep it positive,I know many on this site are very sensitive i just asked a question, I don't sugar coat my posts, I just tell it how i feel mostly from from experience.if you want to have a chance for a second hunt and can afford to pay for the res more power to you. Ha!!! Hoss is the guide........... pay attention! Hunt Harder,Thanks for letting me know, that I will try and pay attention. -
Wow she found all these in January.she is the bomb.

That awesome 74 yards is a long way for a cows deer or any animal for that matter I take the 120 yard long shooters out every year and they hit the animal almost everytime in the neck, in the face, in the butt, way to go with your gut feeling.good luck to you.

Where is it dry?I live in Flagstaff take my dogs out every day, mud and patches of snow all over we have received 29 inches so far in flag but it isn't normalfor this time of year if i had a lot of points I would be wishing for a antelope tag. A few patches of snow and some mud puddles isn't a true indicative of the dry conditions throughout Arizona. This is a tough winter so far regarding moisture for most of the state. Flagstaff is about to break the all time record for longest streak in winter without any precipitation. Record is 39 consecutive days, occurring in 1917. They are currently at 33 days.....with the next 7-10 day forecast with no precipitation. Fire danger is already in the moderate to high range for most of Arizona. With the exception of the Kaibab, 100hr fuel moisture readings are at or lower than 20% for most of the state. Anything lower than 30% is considered cured and/or dead fuel. This is a record breaking winter dry spell. Not even in 2002, considered the driest year in decades, have we see a winter dry spell like this. We need some serious Pacific storms in the next several weeks. Otherwise, going to be a bad fire season. Not sure how it will affect antler growth. But it can't be good. I agree with the fire danger,if we don't get a couple big storms it could be bad,as too the antler growth I love this, everyone talks about it and how they wouldn't put in for the draw if it was them but I would guess 85 percent of eik and antelpe hunters year in and year out ,kill an animal they could kill in any given year.they wait so long for a tag they just can't hold out.

A few really?

Thats awesome this post brings back some good memories,my son found some sheds when he was ten and at 19 we went turkey hunting he killed a big tom, so I asked if he wanted to go shed hunting where i had alrerady found 16 sheds within a 1/2 mile i found a 300 inch shed and 5 minutes late he found a 355 inch set, there is nothing like being in the woods with family.

They don't get much better then with Javelina, some of the best we have ever eaten.
-
Didn't know they circled around in there scouting, all the units I hunt they just fly a grid the same one they fly every year, nice to know in some units they actually look around.

I have an idea, if Lance has a summer camping trip this year we can have a contest you long range hunters that can shoot at 136 yards we throw in 40 bucks each shoot a pie plate at this range, 3 arrows and if you can't hit it 3 times you donate the money to a charity, no adrenaline from buck fever and there usaully isn't more then 15 to 20 mile an hour winds here that time of year.Amanda can pick the charity, what do you long range studs think about this, and bring your friends someone said all his friends can shoot this distance.Broadheads only no target tips. I heard it was a hybrid hybrid, 136 yards with a rage broadhead. poached in grand canyon park.... word is he passed on the fritos buck 20 min before at 40 yard...he also used bait and doe urine. he cant post pics due to a magazine article that will have a detailed map of the location killed. did i miss anything? His dad just killed a 230 inch buck in january did you see the pics.I will see if he will let me post the pics.

Dan, Do you think they will ever let non natives pick up sheds on the res.

21 has lots of goats, if you want to kill a 70 inch antelope great tag if you have very few points.and a very fun hunt.you can chase bucks all day here.

Muley224, You kill some studs I have seen some of your pics, but with all the transplanted they have done in 19a what year did your hunter kill the 88 inch buck. Back in the late 70's and 80's you could sometime find 3 or 4 bucks over 90.I am not sure the hunter last year either had the auction or raffle tag harvested a 86 inch antelope from 19a last year.
