    Lee's Ferry Advice

I took my own boat unguided in July, and everything went smooth with some common sense and lots of patience. I often times would wait for a guide boat and follow their lead at a long and safe distance. I'm going again in May, and I anticipate seeing a much shallower river with new obstacles. A second prop is a must. What amazed me (in July especially) was the flow rate and depth change from the dusk til dawn. I had a rude awakening when my boat was beached 30 feet (no exaggeration) up the sandy shoreline when I woke up the first day. The second and third night my crew and I all took turns waking up throughout the night and resituating the boat. While we didn't have any more problems, it was definitely an inconvenience. The OP mentioned staying at a campground, I don't know if you mean upriver or back below the launch but this year I plan on being prepared with multiple anchors and achoring in deeper water and wading in. Ferry Swale looked like a great place for this. Good luck, be safe and enjoy. Sidenote: We caught our biggest and most fish on tiny black zebra midges. Nothing new we would get tired of catching fish before most boats could get off the sand bar

    Lee's Ferry Advice

I haven't been there for a few years, but watch the water level, what kind of boat are you taking? I have seen many boats anchor at the camp sites, only to see them stuck untill the water rises we use to always take 2 anchors and tie up out a ways from shore, but I don't know if they flucuate the water level much anymore fly fishing is the only way to go at Lees Ferry, good luck to you guys.

    15x56 SLC HD Review

I was able to set my older version of 15's up next too the new 15's today,I was really wanting to sell my old ones along with some sheds to buy them, but after comparing them I wont do it there wasn't much difference between them, maybe just a little clearer with the new model and there are shorter and lighter which is a plus but I was really disapointed with the optics themselves they are nothing like my 10-42 hds I would have thought they would have done a better job.

    Question for you weather guys

We received over 17 inches of rain Flagstaff last monsoon season, and we are way behind this winter. everyone is all worried about it,so the forests don't burn down this summer, and for antler growth,so we received 1.13 inches of rain here last weekend a slow steady rain the type that soaks in, but Sunday every creek and wash was flowing like a spring run off when we have 100 inches of snow ,so if it is so dry why was everything flowing, heck even Lower Lake Mary filled up.
