It's obvious from the wards outfitters pictures this buck is not a 125inch deer. I would use the wards outfitters pictures as a good reference any day over the mossback BS picture.
-
A pretty buck but not close to the 125" mark. These big shot outfitters have to make themselves look like they kill big ones even when they don't. So I would not judge your other buck to this buck. I would say this deer is 112-115 max. Lets see the other buck that you have that's bigger then this one.

desert flame in AJ best tuna around.

"Flatlander" The question was this: (Who would you hire? Here is my list: (not in any order) Jim Mullins McClendon Mossback Chad Smith-Vaquero Steve Chappell-is he in unit 9? I think he's only on the other side of the state. Jay Scott and Dar Colburn) And I broke down by each services name and mentioned the pros and cons that I know from my family and friends past experiences with these outfitters. For heaven sake the kids waited since he was 12 years old to get this tag why are we going to beat around the bush and not give him the best advice we have. I want more then anything to see a post after his hunt of a giant bull with a good outfitter. I would hate to here a horror story about how the kid was forced fed to eat hots dogs everyday until he barfed and was told he would shoot a 400 bull and ended up shooting a 200" muley because he was with a mule deer guide or the governor tag holder showed up and shot the bull he was suppose to with his guide. And not all my comments were crude and negative. Most of them were positive. The outfitters have earned there reputation for a reason so why do you feel we should cover it up for them? Should we end up recommending the same taxidermist as the one that did TAZs lion after he kills a big bull or should we recommend a great taxidermist like Chris Kruegar? Say it how it is people. Some of us will only get a tag like that once in a lifetime. Oh and by the way. Ive been a CWT member since the beginning and I just forgot my password to my old username because I hadn't been on in awhile so I created a new account. So I'm not new and I'm not taking anyone's side and have no affiliation with any of the services mentioned. Amen.

Mossback? No, or should I say He&* NO......If they do say they have you a bull it will be bought from another guide service, like Star Guides, or some other local kid they decided to give a hat to. So you might as well just hire a different outfit. They will spend all there time looking for auction bulls and you will never be a priority. Plus for dinner I heard they feed you hot dogs every night. Worst Group out of them all. Chad Smith/ Vaquero: No, I only would hunt with him if you got a tag in the unit where he has the exclusive private ranch. Matt Schimberg: NO, only if you want to hunt giant deer on the strip. James Guide Service: NO, never no who you will get for a guide. Steve Chappell? No: Great guy and great service and you may get in a DVD of his but I think you could go with a better outfit that specializes in BIG BULLS... McClendons: Maybe, Great guys, Most experienced outfit out of all of them but there kinda of the old flame but still kill a good bull every once in a while. My third pick. Jay Scott and Darr Colburn: Maybe, Top notch guys and great service. My second Pick. Mullins Outfitters: Yes, Top notch guys and great service. They have the best camp around and best service and they always kill huge bulls. My 1st Pick. These are my recommendations. Have fun on the hunt and make sure to post up some pictures when you get the huge bull your looking for. Best of Luck on your decision.

Thanks peeps. Are you saying this buck is way over scored Mathews? If so I agree with you. Nice big buck but not 150.This is one of the cases I was talking about and Im talking more about the professionals over scoring not the newbies.
-
Does all this over scoring of animals bother you? For example everytime I see a post or text message of a buck or bull it seems like most of the time the animal has been over scored. I noticed on another site I visit they had a guess the score contest and not one person but myself got close to the actual score of the antlers. All newbies on here are learning and judging these animals over these ridiculous over scored numbers. Im not saying Im anything special I just think all these numbers 400", 200", 120" always seem to be everyones target so If someone gets a 385" bull elk all of a sudden its a 400". I recently saw a blog post of a very reputable outfitter claiming his clients coues deer to score 120" broken and 127" unbroken. I would bet my life, wife and kids that this buck didn't score over 115" max. Tell it how it is folks. Geez! Ok so now that I got that out I feel allot better. I say lets post up the most over scored trophys you've seen lately and humble these individuals. Post up a pic and the claimed score and see if the majority agree or disagree with the score. This should be fun.
