Stinkin Forest service has all the dang roads closed up tight. Munds, Schnebly, Rocky Park, all closed up. . . .I didn't bother checking north. I got skunked today Wish me luck tomorrow . . .

wow nice length! I just heard story of a single antler found in unit 9 recently. . . it scored 268 all by itself! whats with that???? Some guy in Flag measured it, so maybe we can track it down. . . . some guy who is some guy named Dean's brother ha ha ha ha. I'll try to get the whole story. . . . Yeah I am hooked now dudes! I am going out again in the morning, boys and all. . . . my wife says I can't keep them in the kitchen over the cupboards. . . .

Thanks man, its my first real attempt at picking up elk sheds. . . . I think it helps if you pray. Now if I could only get an archery tag in that unit sheesh. . . 8 years only one tag for elk! Here is the other shed I found today. .. Check out the deer tracks running right over it LOL!

Well I managed to get out for a couple hours this morning. I had my two youngsters out with me in the jeep. . . we drove up to the snow country and drove around for a while. Nick is 5 and Chris is 3, so we can't go hiking for hours on end yet. What we did find was a pretty nice 6 point . . . and then we found these hogs laying about 100 yards off the "secretly hidden snowy" dirt road and about 60 yards from each other! I have never found 3 in a day, let alone a matched set like this. . . . I was stoked! 7x8 but one is broken off. best I can rough measure is 52 inches long. Hope the pics do it justice. . . . I'll have to have Josh measure it out, I can't guess what they would go by my lonesome yet. 365??? I was too excited to get pics of them laying in the snow, I just opened the door and took off running after them ha ha ha! The boys were like "daddy where you going so fast?" This shed hunting stuff is pretty cool! I found 4 in two days! I found four in my whole life before last week!

ha ha ha yeah its only a half-brownie. . . . its still brown underside, and white on top. I am assuming it's last years, since I picked up three there last year that were brown. Can it stay brown underneath for more than one year???? I really don't know. . . . . Josh post up the one you found yesterday bro. . . . I hear its big and brown like OPRAH

I found a half-brownie this morning right before it started to snow on my head. I found a nice javalina skull, a poached elk with his antlers cut off by a water tank, and a yearling (alien) elk kill . . . his skull and 18" antlers were rotting out. And I found a nice 3 point muley too with weak fronts. Here is the shed I found anyway, Its only the fourth Elk Antler I've ever found! I phone messaged it to you Josh, but you know how sucky camera-phone pix can get. . . . heres a good one. It's got a wierd bend to it and weak 2nds and 3rds . . . . how would this one score? I am not too good at scoring yet, I'd guess 290-ish . . . any guesses for me to get better?

I got an ultra 2 . . . TOO! I love it! I shoot Easton Epic Carbons and even though they aren't expensive, they shoot like a dream!

I shot Golden Eagle, PSE, Oneida for years, then a guy talked me into a new Mathews.. . . It was more than I could afford at the time. . . but I will never buy a different brand again. Since then I have shot Hoyts, Bowtech, AR, and Parker. . . . I think Hoyt makes a good product, as does AR, but my two cents, look into the best Mathews you can afford. Ebay is a good way to get a year old bow half off. Just check their feedbacks first. Good luck.

I have called in a few dogs with them. . . they are easy to use, What I do is mouth call really loud in all directions and then switch on the cass call . . . if they are within earshot, they will come running. I am pretty pleased with them. I'll say they don't carry as far as my little tape call though, but nice size.
