Carl's custom meats in Camp Verde does a great job, they are about 2 minutes off I-17, and he lives close by, so if you are coming through after hours, he will open the doors for you anytime. Great guy, great meat.

It does have a flash hider (a2 birdcage style) I have it off and a thread protector installed on the muzzle FYI. lots of tire kickers, no takers yet.

If it's a big Deere maybe?

whichever you can shoot your bow/arrow/setup the best with ....That's the one to get. personally I like mechanicals best, death everywhere I take them.

If I have an archery bull tag, it ends 5 minutes into opening day... usually.
-
I also wear face paint when it's hot, facemask when its cold, I figure if anything, at LEAST it helps hide my ugliness from the elk.... its been known to scare humans away so why risk it....

Stud buck! Congratulations!

That's a great price on a helluva gun by the way.

I was in bulls every morning... saw some giants. Opening morning I had a 380 bull at 100 yards.... couldn't close it (The only bulI actually saw rutting) Most every bull after that was on his own, no cows..... opening day I had a great 5x5 at 40 yards, on camera.... but like an idiot I passed on him because I was so excited about the huge bull I'd seen rutting already... Cows were mostly all by themselves.... Bugles stopped by 10 minutes before sunup.... I saw bulls bedding at 5:45 each morning.... Nothing called during the day... I hiked 10 miles each day in places I'd had cameras out and saw good bulls..... Rough, rough hunt for me. But I'll shoot you a pm because I've got a 1 in 3 chance of that same tag.... I've shot 3 good bulls in that unit and I can't lay off it. My favorite unit.

I buy used/new cheap $40-$60 cameras off ebay, that way nobody really wants to steal those, plus they work just fine.... I like the wildgame innovations micro sized ones the best.

mine only show old stuff.

Me too!!!! Never thought I'd ever say it, my first tag soup ever last year chasing 7w bulls that refused to rut. Roughest time hunting I've ever had, emotionally. But I get to forget all about it now! Another bull tag somewhere! Whooohoooo!

I cannot paste anything into the site either.... I cannot quote as well. I use my phone or Chrome on this site. IE doesn't seem to work well for this site for me either.... strange.

I have a ton of sentimental value to my lever guns as well. So I used one on my coveted kaibab tag last year. Smoked a decent buck at 300. I have seen 30-30 take elk before. I would have zero problems shooting an elk with my old 30-30. But like archery, and everything else, practice to comfortable ranges and shot placement is everything.

Is there a trick to this to ensure you get the real thing? Sounds like a great idea. Nope, no trick that I know of... Here's a quick link for ya. http://m.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=havalon+blades+100&isNewKw=1&mfs=GOCLK&acimp=0&_trksid=p2053742.m2428.l1313.TR0.TRC0.Xhavalon+blades+100&sqp=havalon+blades+100

My absolute favorite skinning/gutting blades are the havalon, Buck 679:its cheap, stainless, great grip, comfortable shape, sharpens easily. And I use this sharpener cuz its light and quick.

I bought a hundred replacement blades for my Havalon on ebay for a few bucks...if I even THINK a blade is getting dull, shuck it and go.
