I use Rocket Steelhead 100's for everything, I believe they fly straight and I zipped one all the way through my elk 3 yrs ago. . . he walked 40 yards and kicked one time. Never knew what hit him, the arrow was ten feet out the other side of him and broke ribs in and out. I am sold.

Oh man that is bad!!!! Funny and yet horrible all in the same sentence. I would demand an elk tag. . err. . . make that two! I need one also! He only got CHARGED for a sheep tag, never got the tag. . . LOL!

I think its obvious, it DOESN'T work. My grandpa is in the same boat as yours, been drawn once or twice in 58 years. My buddy has 19 bonus points for antelope and can't get a tag . . . and others are whooping and hollering "Yeah our whole family got elk tags 6 years in a row now" . . . . I just don't get it. I also heard that people were getting bighorn sheep tag charges on their credit cards, and not even put in for that . . . OOPS G&F goofed up some more. I'm happy for those who can get drawn, please call me and put me in with you next year. I can't bear another year of this kind of torment! Pitty party at my house all this month maybe all year long again! I had a dream last night I gut shot a muley with my bow! well thats something to look forward to.

12 years of putting in . . . only one elk one deer and one turkey tag to show for it. . . . and this year. . . another BAGEL! We didn't get jack crap! Another whole year of pissing and moaning. . . . . I'm moving to Colorado

Well you won't win anythin, but it might be fun to try. Here are some better pics of the sheds I found. Best I ever found! I'm tickled! I took a tape to them and plugged the numbers into the Boone and Crockett site, but I am no official scorer thats for sure. I would have to guess at outside and inside and tip-to-tip numbers? Anyone have a guess for those??? Anyone able to guess close what these might have scored if they would have been on a kill? Ballpark is good enough for me, I kinda want to get the feel for it. Josh told me to always skyline them for good pictures. Here is something close. <br> <br> Give it your best guess.

OK OK so its been like a year since I posted anything on here. . . but the winner is Coues 'n' Sheep he got it right on the button. . . .335. . . . Hooah dude! Beers all around!

I like mechanical heads. . . . I once read an article about the top ten mech heads where they shot them through two pieces of plywood spaced a foot a part. Only two broadheads made it out the first , the Vortex Mini-max, and the Rocket Steelhead. . . The Rocket got through both pieces of plywood. I zipped one all the way through my elk, ribs in and out. . . . arrow was lying ten feet past the elk and he never knew what hit him. The head was in perfect shape and still sharp. I zipped one through my deer at 45 yards. . . both really really clean kills as both animals went down within 40-80 yards. I know that both heads fly well, with the rocket being much quieter. For fixed blades, I stick with NAP thunderheads, there is a reason they were the best selling heads forever. . . the G5 is a good head though, not quite sharp enough to shave with out of the box, but a good head and nothing to go wrong with the one-piece design. my 2 cents worth.

Maybe everyone was like me, chucking arrows at trees this year with no meat in between! I didn't know we were supposed to call in though. . . . shame on me.

Anyone feel like giving me a good spot to check out for my MAY 5th Turkey Tag? it doesn't have to be Granpa's secret honey hole. . . just good enough to get my first tom. I have been scouting high and low and have come up with a bunch of nothing. . . no tracks, no roost, no noise, only a few feathers. . . I haven't been turkey hunting since I was like 12 so I am a bit on the rusty side. . . I have been practicing my calls, and even bought some decoys of ebay. I thought about sitting a tank or roost/feeding area if I found good enough sign. . . . . time is a ticking away. . . . I got Maps and GPS and NASA Whirlwind too . . . . ? I have been hitting every tank I can find in my shed hunts/turkey scouting trips. . . . haven't seen or heard a single bird. I finally got a 6A tag. . . . don't know where to go. . . Got a new vest, and 4 calls, been practicing and watching new turkey videos. . . . no birds to hunt! "I'd like to buy a clue please"

I love taking my boys out. . . . they have shot guns and we have spent a lot of time working on safety and enjoying Gods green earth. . . Here is a pic of one of our happy days.

Thats friggin cool! I would have clicked something besides the camera at that bad boy though. . . (like the safety off) cats freak me out! Ever since I got to know Josh a little bit, now I find myself out and about and once in a while I check up in tall trees. Looking for swinging tails I guess! I have yet to see one yet out in the wild. . . seen bears, but never lions.
