GREETINGS!! Welcome aboard, there are lots of great people here to share with.

anyone want to take a stab at what he may score??? I notice he has a (7th) kicker point on his left, and there is a matching but shorter one on his right. I am not that great at scoring them. . . All I know is I would shoot him

I just picture those guys down there sitting in front of a big barrel pickin out names and saying "heck lets give this guy this tag . . . nah put him in this one ha ha ha that would be cool" Never "makes sense" what happens down there sometimes. . . . bonus points = shmonus points.

Went out scoutin, dinkin around, and heard a couple dogs at about 5:30 this morning. I heard them calling about a mile away, so I trucked it over a ridge and sat down, only had an elk estrus reed style call, so I made it sound like a whimpering pup and I only called like ten times, in about twenty seconds I look up and this guy is trotting to me at about 10 steps, I yank the rifle up and boom! My old 30-30 with a 170gr silvertip drilled him square in the chest, levered another because there was another dog not 15 feet from me, I didn't get a shot on him though, too thick of brush . . . but what a rush. When I stood up I walked exactly five steps to where I shot him . . . if I would have been looking the other way, he would have tripped over me before I saw him LOL Here is a crappy cell pic

Bow is so much more rewarding, but I would hunt with anything anytime. . . .

In the immortal words of my grandpa. . . "no problem is too big that a tiny little .223 and a shovel won't fix." -
+1 after that, .243 and 22-250 come to mind. I will be using my AR10 in .308 for all my varmitting from now on as I will be practicing for bigger things as well. . . great point.

Ha! get an AR10T and you can be cool like me!

I usually use one of my AR-15's to slaughter yotes, but then I got another hair up my butt to go big or go home. Leupy 4.5-14x50 B&C reticle outta work out just fine atop my newest love! Before: After:
-
I bought my first Mathews (after Oneida, PSE, Golden Eagle) and went on a killing spree. . . . I swore I would never buy another bow, nor another brand. . . . but that X-Force is the bomb man. I would buy one without hesitation.
-
whatever is on top, honestly the deer don't care what pattern you have on. . . . Predator rules though!

STAG Arms makes a very dependable and totally left handed AR-15 off the shelf. Good stuff for you lefty's. I am a lefty, but shoot everything righty. Weird I know. http://www.stagarms.com/

My two boys on their first squirrel hunt! What a day to remember! -
Last year quail hunting I had one strike at my boot from about two feet away! Whilst mid-air and about three feet high jumping backwards. . . he met the business end of my 870, he was about 5 1/2 feet long, later that day I saw two even bigger rattlers fighting each other in a pit it was the coolest thing I ever saw! I watched for about 2.6 seconds and then mowed them down as fast as I could pump that old 12 guage! Ammo well spent! I don't quail hunt around there anymore. My brother in law got bit by one and it nearly killed him, poison ruined his heart and lungs and now he really struggles, wearing a medicine pump to live. He isn't even 40 yet! Kill them all. Kill them all. Kill them all.
