Went shed hunting today, picked up three dink5 pointers, one was a freak of nature, anyway I stumbled onto this doe who sort of walked off looking all nervous .. . . I looked around where she was bedded and three feet away I found two little fawns! Must not be one day old! they just layed there not even flinching while I pet them for a little bit and snapped a few quick cell pix and a few videos. . . here is the only one my phone would upload to a site to share. http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/7/20/1281826/fawn.mov

Very sensible idea bro. my buddy welded a bunch of angle together and made a lock hole so he can anchor his cameras to the tree via two long lag bolts, and then lock them up inside the steel framework. Hasnt lost one yet,

HEADACHE replied to Lance's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Wow, well at least he came clean and gave your card back, most people are hardly that honest. Good job strange guy for (stealing the card and being mean and then) returning the card! LOL what a grand story! Did you get to keep the pictures that were on it? -
Last year I hunted East side, but I am open to anything for sure.

Not asking for a honey hole or anything. But if you want to pm one to me that would be stellar. My question is, Archery season vs. Rifle season, Am I likely to find bucks in different areas? I got a beautiful Archery tag that starts the 22nd and want a tip or clue as to where to hunt them. I have talked to a few people and so far they have told me the same spots as I hunted during rifle season. Are they going to be in the same "type" areas as they were in rifle season, or are they liable to be in "other type" places, terrains etc. . . I have only hunted Kaibab one other time, (last year when I got my 171 " buck) so I don't really "know the Bab" just yet. I have done lots of reading up on various sites etc, but can't seem to find this out. I understand this herd migrates north and south in and out of Utah. Thanks guys for any help. This forum rocks!

Amen brother, I say burn the plants and shoot the people growing it. I don't want this crap around my children as they grow up. Why in the heck would you want to legalize something that makes you more stupid?? Stupid liberals!

here is a neat link about broadhead testing. has a lot of older models too. http://www.american-hunter.com/broadheads/broadhead_test.htm another big test: http://www.outdoorlife.com/outdoor/gear/ar...,213918,00.html and another: http://www.bowonlyoutdoors.com/broadheads.html

Have worn out many a pair of Merrells, Brownings, Rocky boots, and Wolverine. Rocky gave me the worst customer service along with sportsmans warehouse. I think Merrells were the toughest, but alas they make more hikers than hunters. I have enjoyed my brownings as well, good sturdy comfortable boots the lot of them. Will buy Danner next time around.

yes the steelheads are mechs, and the ultimate steel are short fixed blades behind a big bone breaker head. there is also the steelhead xp that has the blade on the nose and mech blades behind. confusing names. . . I like the plain steelheads. Never a problem, I DO change out the rubber bands every season though to make sure those are fresh.

755Million pine trees. Only about twenty hit by lightning each year. . . odds are in your favor to sit there! I say go for it man!

Any broadhead will kill a deer or even elk if you shove it into the right spot. (shot placement speaks for itself) Now if your shot is off or gets into some serious bone, then you need a very high quality head, that wont break or deform or come apart! I have always used Mechs over fixed, (minus a few outings with the legendary thunderheads.) because of their ability to fly well through a fast bow. I have never had any tuning or flight problems shooting mechs. I started out with noisy Vortex-3 blade and then switched to Rocket Steelheads 100 gr. 3 blade. I am convinced they penetrate through anything as good or better than ANY other heads. I killed my deer with a very poor shot placement he died within 50 yards. My elk walked 40 yards to his speedy death, the arrow went all the way through him, breaking ribs on the way in AND out. He never knew what hit him, and the results were devastating. Rage makes a decent product from what I have read, as does NAP. But Rocket Steelhead will be my head again this year My 2 cents worth.

HA HA HA HA thats good stuff there.

ya I saw the mother spook off, and I kept my eye on her for about ten minutes or so, I circled around her and softly pushed her back towards her youngans. I was very respectful and only stayed with them for a few minutes.

Sweet Mulie Tines bro! Are they more brown when they get home, or is that a camera trick? And don't let em give you crap for killing off another evil serpent from amongst us, I kill every snake I see, lethal or not, dead, done, nuf sed.

Need Info on Kaibab deer check in
HEADACHE replied to EagleEye's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Last year during rifle we had to check it in, and they pulled the cheek apart to check for CWD. All they did was shoot a poloroid, and take my hunting license information, took only like ten minutes. I got my bab buck last year processed at Caseys Processing on the North side of Flagstaff. He did a very good/clean job, the meat tastes incredible. his number is 928-526-8348 -
Finally got out to do some good scouting. Just thought I'd share somepictures we snapped. . .Whatcha think?

I shoot em and feed them to the foxes, vultures, crows and other cannibalistic coyotes. Just stick your knife in their guts and rip it open, that way the smell carries faster and farther, they are usually eaten up by nightfall. Best to use copper bullets though, we don't want those crows getting lead poisoning like those condors on the Bab. Gosh I crack myself up

I got Archery bull elk tag with 7 points once and then this year had five bonus points=shmonus points
-
thats why I always wear camo, and have my AR-15 strapped on my back. I would call 911 and give GPS if I ever stumbled onto one. I have heard about them in clear creek along the hiking trail as well.

cool pics man, thanks for sharing. That snake would be toast if I was walking next to him.
-
why yes it is a trailer ha ha. bunch of people camping up there didn't even see the elk, they weren't hunters either Actually this is our back-up bull, the big one we found has torn up the trail cam battery line twice now and we haven't got him on film yet ha ha ha. He is bigger than this guy by we think about ten inches or so. Hopefully by Sun we might have a picture of him up .
