Has anyone used the Primos or other brand bow sling? The one to carry your bow around for long hikes, NOT the wrist sling things. If so, what was your take on it? carry comfortably? Protect your cams and string? I am debating getting one and just wanted a couple opinions. Thx.

HOW....a hunt with 150 tags and I am 151
HEADACHE replied to elkhutnaz's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
150-151, 175. . . ah whats the difference, we got a new building!!! WHOO HOO!!! just a guess. -
I forgot my favorite trick!. . . . Whenever you get in the field, take 25 seconds and grab the nearest bush-tree and shred it up, rubbing it all over yourself. There is nothing more natural than the surrounding vegetations cover scent. And if anyone is watching you, they will surely stay away from you because they will think you are touched in the head. Plus there are those clorophyll tablets that actually take a LOT of human odor away.

Wow I can't believe I read this whole thread .. . . I only have one small bit of helpful advice. . .

Ya I carry three mags only because I don't have the room for Four lol! I think of that line in Unforgiven "Jeez CLyde, you got three guns and only one arm!" . . . . "Well I just don't wanna get killed for lack of shootin back!"

ooooooooooh yaaaaaa. lookin heterosexual IS a big deal boys.

that is perfect amigo . . . . especially when a lion or bear starts chomping on your leg! I was scouting my deer herd last weekend and chased three bears up a tree, scared me to living death! I HATE bears! I am packin an xd in 45 with three mags just to be safe! Good luck boys.

Each deer and each herd is more or less wary than the next depending on their own comfortability levels and huntinf stress. . . I believe. I have only seen a deer "wind me" and bolt one time . . . usually busted by movement or too much noise. I always use unscented body soap, unscented deodorant, and then spray down before the hunt, and whenever I get sweaty. I use special laundry detergent too, all that stuff doesn't really cost that much, I feel it works rather well. And all I do is spot and stalk, never sit a blind or treestand for this cowboy. . . I will save that for when I am too crippled to walk. I think Muleys could care less what you do as long as you arent looking at them or walking towards them . . . whiteys are something else though. I do own scentlock boots and a jacket, but can't tell a difference nor have I seen/learned any difference from my regular boots/jackets to make them worth the extra money. My humble two cents worth. . .

Keep in mind that everything with archery is give and take. Give up some stability for speed, lose some speed for forgiveness, quietness vs speed, vs. accuracy vs. you name it. etc etc. 2 inch vanes do a pretty good job at stabilizing, fit through rests easier, and are faster. 4 inch vanes do a great job at stablizing arrow flight, but you give up speed. .. . . AAE and NAP both make a wonderful 3" vane. just to throw that into the mix.

San Francisco Peaks set to ERUPT
HEADACHE replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Hard to believe that was all one big peak! Imagine it was huge! I have lived here all my life and I have seen it smoke a little from time to time. . . . If it blows like last time, we won't need to worry about getting drawn for anything again ha ha -
I just got through installing some of those new NAP Quick Fletch Talk about easy! Just stripped six arrows clean, boiled some water, poured into a glass tall enough to put arrow into and they shrunk around the arrow, no mess, no time, and solid as heck. Whole deal took me ten minutes to unfletch and refletch 6 arrows! Took them out and shot them through the bow. . . hitting exactly same place as I was with my other fletch, they fly great and super stable. Shot one into the rock pile to see if I could shake it loose. . . nope You can buy them as "Twister" . . . which spin a little, or "Quikspin TS" speedhunter which have the little kickers and spin a lot! I got the plain Twisters. Just thought I would pass this along, they seem great and easy to use. Fly well. and no glue or weak bonds!

I drew mine right over that counter. . . .
-
NOT DRAWN! PISS AND MOAN!!!! Where's my bow!!!
-
4:26 a.m. draw results are unavailable at this time. . .

I have only shot them to 70 yards. I bought a six pack off ebay for like $12 shipped so not too bad. These flew very well for me from 20 all the way to 70 I have shot the regular NAP quickspins before and didn't like them as they spun too hard, these are a nice middle ground I think. Hopefully I will post another picture of them with another huge `Bab Muley eh?
