Mullin's Got it done in a big way!
HEADACHE replied to matthewp45's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
My hat is off to anyone who shoots a giant like that. It takes a lot of hard work to do it on purpose, no matter who you are, it takes a lot of time and dedication to nail a big ol bull like that. Congrats to Team Mullins and the hunter. Great job! -

plucking the string? You may be pulling it off your anchor/cheek when you release? Torquing the bow is also an option? Try using just first finger and touching it to your thumb in the front. No torque.

better there than your bowstring. . .

I didn't know you could do anything when I shot my first velvet buck. I just left it outside for a few days until it stopped stinking and it has been stuck on there looking as new for five years or so ???

A lot of hunters will have one or two or three spots set up, figuring others might be in their #1 spot. So he may not even be using that spot or it may even be for a much later hunt than Archery deer. Also a lot of them do Bug out early. Don't let it bother you, just wave nicely if he does show up. . . .

I have one of those little burner jet things about the size of your hand, just big enough for a large can of soup. I get a couple big cans of chunky soups, some spaghetti-O's and anything chocolate to keep my calories up and call it a day. I hunt so hard I could care less whats going in there, and I don't have the energy to cook . . . just want something in there to stop the belly-noises and get some shut eye. Heck I ain't camping . . . I'm huntin! ha ha. Can goods don't need any preparation either. Just throw one in for every night out. Easy. And no mess. My only advice is skip ANYTHING that has garlic, is spicy or has peppers in it. . . that could haunt your hunt something fierce. . . . keep it bland and plain to keep the scent and stomach cramps to a minimum.

I saw five good bulls Sat morning, the two smallest ones were rubbed off (only scrap hanging) and the three large bulls were still perfectly velveted. FWIW

HEADACHE replied to justahunter's topic in Elk Hunting
Heres the score as it stands right now: Elk = 1, All previous hunters = 0 Hope you can change that bro. I don't think he is over 400, but He is a great bull for sure, I hope you prove me wrong. -
I got one a long time ago from mytopo and it has served me well, very durable and easy to read. and for online use, it is hard to beat NASA World Wind (free program way more powerful than Google earth)

What weird stuff have you glassed or happen well glassing for game?
HEADACHE replied to seek100plus's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
One time I had hiked into his large saddle archery deer hunting, sat down next to a big downed log for a quick bite and a breather whilst glassing the side of a mountain . . . I saw two ladies coming down the mountainside on horseback. . . they rode right towards me for about a mile or so. . . then about thirty yards shy of running right over me, they stop, hop off their horses and both of them start . . . well relieving themselves. Right out in the open! . . . I was way too slow to react or say anything and had to just turn my face away. Then they got back on their horses and rode not ten feet from me chattering away and they never even saw me. . . I'd bet my face was red! One time I was bear hunting and saw a group of skinny dippers in the cold clear creek. Once I was glassing over a large prarie and I heard the loudest dang noise, I jumped out of my skin grabbing for my rifle! It was an Eagle who had come and snatched up a rabbit from about 30 yards away. I mean I was scared for my life. It sounded like a jet! Spotted a matched set of elk antlers about three miles away and under what looked like a bear cave so I thought. . . .hiked my tired butt all the way up there and turned out to be a set of Indian Ruins. Very cool. The coolest one though was I was up picking up elk sheds, and had a group of turkey jump up, I followed them and they took me straight to the most jacked up antler I have ever found. . . then I start looking for the match to this freak and stumble upon two fawns, not more than half a day old. . . I walked right up and pet on them both, they were super cool! I watched momma go back to them and lick em all clean. I Have the video on my phone still. And once I saw sasquatch. -
L M A O ! ! ! thats funny Dug!
