  1. http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/321849/20120330/bear-attacks-california-man-mountain-lion-biggs.htm March 30, 2012 7:20 AM EDT Robert Biggs, 69 of Paradise, Calif., had a pretty wild encounter when he went out for a hike on Monday. Hiking near Whiskey Flats, Biggs stopped to watch a mother bear and her cub by a stream, but was jumped from behind by another animal when he turned to leave. The California man wasn't attacked by a bear, but a mountain lion. Biggs said that the mountain lion jumped on his back, forcing him to fall to his knees. "He grabbed me from behind and knocked me to the ground," Biggs told the Huffington Post. "I was on my knees. I had my rock pick out because I was on a steep incline, and I smashed the cat in the head with it. He screamed , but didn't let go." Fortunately for Biggs, the mother bear was only 40 feet away to help him. "That's when a blur on my left side grabbed the lion by its throat," said Biggs of the mother bear. "I heard tremendous screeching, some growling noises." During the bear and mountain lion's struggle, Biggs was able to get out of the cats grip. The Bear, which "outweighed the cat 400 pounds to 100 pounds," won the fight, explained Briggs. As the mountain lion ran away, the hiker claimed that the bear "humbly made eye contact" before going back to its cub. "I'm 100-percent sure it did want to save my life," he says of the bear. "I'd seen the bears before and I know she knew who I was." "I think the lion was stalking the bear's cub and I got in the way," Biggs said. "The bear walked calmly back to her cub after, and I wrapped my arm up with a T-shirt and went gold panning before I went home." Robert Biggs arm is black and blue and has puncture wounds, but he does not fear returning back to his hiking grounds.

What weight arrow/broad head for elk?

I killed 2 bulls with easton epic shafts and 100gr. rocket steelhead expandables... they both died within 40 yds. I killed another bull with easton epic C2 shaft and 100gr rocket meetseeker expandable, he died within 25 yds. all 3 arrows were 415-420 grains and they were all complete passthru shots.... I would worry more about shot placement than doubting your set-up.

As I topped out the last knobby rocky hill I had to climb, I walked straight into this baby! Nice shed.... wrong species! or if you're a CWT forumite.... Sealed 500 rounds of wolf ammo Removable mag as well as original fixed mag 100+ rounds of ammo on stripper clips extra clips as well FTF in AZ or you pay to ship it all to your FFL (Who must accept rifle from non-FFL) Would sell for $390 +actual Shipping or trade for a full 1000 round case of new .223 / 5.56 Nato ammo. My 118 inch late whitetail

Boy Jeff you were't kidding! That buck is a STUD! Congrats to you Bodie! (and the fam too) Way to stick it out in the freezing cold and still nail the shot! I wish I had that kind of patience.... Super bonus with the broadhead in the skull too! Those things are tougher than you would think! Congratulations! I like the looks of the terrain.

    Gone thanks

I've got a fever for another Marlin Lever gun these days and since I have 2 of these beauties I figured I may try to trade one off. Pretty hard to find pistol: Ruger Bisley model Vaquero in 44MAG 4.5bbl I've only put about 50 rounds thru it and it shoots flawlessly! no need to aim, just point and click! It's a pretty clean gun, only it looks like someone dropped it on the top (hard to get pictures of it but I want to have full disclosure) It's Not very used, pawl marks are light, blue is good, etc. The Bisley model is the only ruger that fits in my hands correctly, all the blackhawk/redhawks are way too short and my pinky has nowhere to hold.... the Bisley is perfect! Plus that flat gunfighter hammer is right where it needs to be when the bad guys ride up! Would like to trade for a RIFLE length Marlin 45-70. Laminated stock would be a BIG plus but its not necessary. Doesn't need to be new, just needs to be dependable, I'm gonna use it not look at it. Or I'd sell it for $500 shipped with the lefty holster $475 naked pistol. (I'm keeping the righty holster for my other pistol, but if you have to have righty holster or want Both holsters lemme know I'm always open to talk with) This is also for sale locally and I have someone coming to look at it this week. Thanks for looking guys!
