Well here is a beautiful rubbed black elk shed I found today. It was a happy moment for me.

I agree, this is an awesome thread so far. Well here is my new favorite as of today. This elk shed is black and pretty fresh too. There is still blood on the base.

Gonna try for some elk sheds tomorrow, if the weather behaves.

ATL stands for As They Lay. Sounds better if you just say atl though.

From the looks of it you find a lot of sets GRONG. Do they usually shed pretty close? I have one very large elk shed that I was never able to match up.

I have thought about trying to lasso antlers off off deer during the shedding season. I almost did it last year when this buck was in my yard like 4 yards from my porch.

Found this yesterday hiking with my dad. This deer broke his head. What I think happened is his antler was starting to detach and since it was a late rut this year he was fighting and he broke the nub. Look at the base of the antler to see what I mean.

I have no idea. He could have died. If not he's got one heck of a headache.
