Anyone here have the Nov. 21-25 hunt for unit 37 in New Mexico. First two days and only seen a little fork and a bunch of does. The little buck I missed, got three days left, anyone got anywhere to go? Or, got any bucks from the unit?

Yeah, getting harder to get out.

Wow man, those are great!!!

Ok, I never do this, like never ever, but this year my dad and I are having a hard time find where the elk are at in Southeastern New Mexico. High. low, somewhere in the middle? What? We've been out a lot, and only pulled a few, at least recently. We also know or have heard of many people having a real difficult time this year. Heck the natives who usually have 500 to 1000 ls right now are barely at 3 to 400 lbs. So any help of is the elk are shedding high, low, or what would really help.

Found 3 sheds today. Spent 4.5 hours hiking, covered 6 miles and found 2 little old sheds. Get home, my mom and dad go down to the garden. My dad comes up the house, tells me they found an elk shed. I was in disbelief. It was right in a spot I had walked right by and never even saw it.

Today was a long day of hiking. Hiked hard for the few sheds we did find. The one brown elk shed was a hard earned shed. Only bad part was, we were at the top of the mountain on our way out when we saw it at the bottom. So after some debate, off we went to get it. Not as big as it looked when we saw it but, it's still a nice shed, and so are the others we found. Didn't take a pic of the spike, or the old one we found, but we got 4 antlers today. Took pics of 2

Had a good day today. We found 9, only kept 5 tho. Seeing as 4 of them were just to old to take. Either way it was a good day. Still searching for that elusive number 10. Twice we've been to this spot, twice we've found 9. The last three photos are the same antler. Those funky lumps are on his third. Never seen a lump, or antler growth that looks like it.

Long day, two spots, and we managed to find a few sheds and a nice deadhead. The deadhead being our biggest ever scoring 174. Would have rather found him alive during the hunts with a tag in my pocket, but, this is great as well.

The biggest impact on my seasons, which, to my standards are good, is people on horseback. I hike my butt off everytime we go out, and it kills me when I find boot and horse tracks. In a spot we did good in for two years, never once had horsebackers been an issue, this year, we hit our good spot. They FOLLOWED us in there, and then raced down the trail and up the ridge he were going to hit, that really pissed me off. So I would say the growing popularity of shed hunting is having an affect on my season.

I guess I'm not the only one getting their butts kicked this year. It's just tough, after the two good years I had leading up to this year, and the fact a guy who is from my area has over 800lbs of bone this year, and lots of browns as well. The elk are just, having weird patterns this year.

I only say slow, cause we didn't find the two until we were at our turn back point, and we both thought we'd find more in the one spot where the bigger shed was.

After 7 long hours of hiking yesterday, we found 2 fresh elk sheds.
-
Wow, that first set is a beast!

Had a good day on the mountain today, found some fresh bone, but the best part was the huge quartz crystal. The last photo is the two crystals I have found. Both from this year, only two I've ever found.

Found this nice fresh deer shed today. Was surprised to find it to be honest. Still a good bit early for deer sheds in my area of New Mexico, but still a nice find.

Short, short hike. Like 30 minutes produced these bad boys. First fresh sheds of the year, found by my dad. They were about 20 yards apart. Cool little bit about this bull. My dad saw him feet from our porch one night a few weeks ago.

Great day. My dad kicked my butt, seeing as he found the two big elk sheds. The first two are the same antler.
-
I would, but I've already fixed my draw units to hopefully get this unit to hunt in. Otherwise I might, haha.

We left it after the second elk shed was found. It was old and chalky, and I didn't feel like carrying it along with the weight of the two big elk sheds.

Been out twice and have 10 antlers. One of which is a big ole elk shed

Deceiving is all. If you mean the smaller elk shed. It was tines down, so it has more color.
