Never used them but this year I found myself in a few situations where i would have liked to have one on a lanyard, this occurred in both AZ and MT. Predator hunting I always bought custom calls from local guys, not a big fan of the superstores, any suggestions or advise is appreciated.

Looking for suggestions on how to get my processed elk back from AZ. I few with the steaks and roast using dry ice as I have in the past, just checked it as baggage in a cooler. I've also shipped elk from Montana but it cost me an arm and a leg, could have flow back and checked it for half the cost of overnight shipping. My buddy has it in his freezer now so it's fine and back and picked up from the processor but I would much rather be enjoying it than writing about it.

Your the man, spot on with the suggestion. The last time I used FedEx it was around $300.00+ for overnight. I did a quick search while at work via SW Airline and looks to be around $80.00. I greatly appreciate the tip, thank you. Still need to do a little more research but thanks again for the direction.

I currently use the Winchester Super Elite Xp3 180 grain for elk but the are becoming more and more difficult to find. I love the performance but as I mentioned hard to find and a little pricy but more so hard to find unless you can find a place that back ordered for 6 months. I'm about to start hunting Texas whitetail and am looking for suggestions on a 165 grain that's versatile for deer and elk so I don't have to sight in for each species. I haven't gotten into reloading, will someday but not enough spare time yet. Any suggestions are appreciate.

Any suggestions on rifle cases that are not going to break the bank, the trip north is costly on its own. I know on TSA’s website it states it must be hard sided, un-crushable and lockable to the point it cannot be pried open. Just looking for suggestions on Makes and Models you gentlemen have successfully traveled with. I fly yearly so I’d need the case to last multiply seasons. The last few years my father who drives in from Washington State brings my rifle. This year I picked up a 300WSM and am looking forward to throwing some lead. SKB and Pelican have a few that seem pretty cost effective. I really like the idea of the TuffPak being able to store guns (I'm only traveling with one rifle and one side arm), luggage and doesn’t look obviously like a gun case but they are pricy, any quality substitutes? Come on winter…Thanks fulch

Broke down an picked up a Pelican 1750. Flown with it twice, it's a very nice case. Amazon it was around $200 bucks but worth it to protect my rifles. 3 pieces of foam design. I cut one out and used it for my rifle, saved the cut-outs and put it back in the bottom slot so I could use one of the other pieces of foam for my muzzleloader hunt. Pricey but after two trips worth every cent.

Heard of excellent result from the J-13 as well.

No background check on the ML I purchased in Feb 2013, cash OTC. Don't know the laws but I was told last week by a fellow hunter that his son is in the same boat due to some drug problems and hunts with an inline ML.

One of the coolest hunting videos I've seen. This will be wide spread throughout the Internet in no time. Congratulation on the great hunt, a great buck, fantastic footage and saving the underdog.

That suck.. Learned a valuable lesson about patterning shotguns with buckshot or lack there of I should say. It still burns. 25 yards away broadside and a clean miss. I patterned later that week and it was a mess with the Federal Vital Shock #4 buck in a 3" mag. I could hardly hit the cardboard let along group. Why I didn't have my rifle i may he asked, well i was primarily hunting coyotes in thick cover but have a lion tag for "just in case". My gun loves the Remington Express #4 buck in the 3" I know now. I picked up an extended Carlson's Coyote choke with a diameter similar to turkey chokes I'll pattern with next. Spent 6 hours searching for blood that day and went back the following with a hound, couldn't find a drop. Painful mistake and lesson.

Those are bad........Man I wish I hadn't bocked my shot on that lion a week and a half ago. Would have looked great above my television, my girl disagrees and thinks it would have looked better outside.
