MULEPACKHUNTER replied to lancetkenyon's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Getting carried away with this now but swapped scope out on my 223 and loaded some new rounds. A full day of case prep. Good luck everyone, I'll be sighting in next week and shooting different charges of lt-32. maybe shooting target as well. Trimmed case length, neck sized only, sized flash hole, debured flash hole, neck reAmed at .0015 neck tension, primer pocket swaged and uniformed with Dillon swager and km pocket tool, sonic cleaned, hand primed small rifle magnum cci primers, charged at 23,23.5,24,24.5,25,25.5 bullets seated .01 off lands lets see what this cheap gun can do? -
Very cool

When you sell this I have my 65 for sale? I'm ready for the 60x. Loved my 11x33 and really love this 16x48.

Is it bad I'm turned on?

Lean red meat steamed broccoli, carrots, and rice for dinner. Have you guys heard about the deal where you don't bring the food to the table, instead fill your plate in the kitchen and leave the rest, otherwise you will pick at the leftovers at the table when your done eating. Works pretty good.

14 days of Coues in Mexico
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to PatrickJr's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Mexico
Maybe in a few years I can make it down there. Awsome hunt you guys had. Seems like the coues hunting down there is like I hear it used to be here years ago. -
Man the food is awful up there for sure! Lunch at Nannas maybe but dinner is a tuff one. You would think with all the ranches up there they could pull off a steak but no don't do it! Stick with Mexican food if you have to stop. Otherwise get a granola bar at circle k.

2017 buck, now the wait begins
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to huntlines's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Wow great buck -
Cummins owners be jealous, my hunting partner that I work with made this cap for my oil filter. No more spills since it has to come out sideways after getting it loose. Love it.
-
Oh and don't get me started on discount tire guys. Last rotation air pressure was all over the map with 4 different settings and 2 of my chrome stem caps were gone.
-
No doubt I didn't think to pull the air box off. Nice tip.

Looking for someone to develop a round

Where did those numbers come from? Nothing I see comes past 2700 even at max load with 24 in barrel? Not saying it can't be done just don't see that published. Although max loads in books are usually still middle of the road. -
I use full synthetic and it cost me 75.00 bucks. I just don't trust people, most are not paying attention or don't care. I've seen and heard of oil not being changed at all, I've heard guys mark the oil filter and it wasn't changed, I've seen loose pan bolts. I work hard and pay a lot for my trucks and I want it done right with care and attention. It's always good to give a good look to the truck and oil as well while it's being done. Mine is a 2015 and there is no takining it out any other way than sideways out the wheel well.

Looking for someone to develop a round
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to olmos1010's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
After looking at the 154 grn ballistics I think 500 yards would be maximum range at barely over 1000 ft lb of energy given you can get 2500 fps from the muzzle. With your short barrel your going to be slower. 400 yards would be a better max to be safe. My opinion anyway -
Burrs!

That's a good suggestion with the factory ammo. If anything buy 2 boxes of good factory loads and go spend some time on the trigger. After that if you want I can load up 8 sets of 5 rounds at different charges. We can measure your chamber and prep the cases. That way you will be fire formed already. If the factory stuff shoots great stay with that. If it's so so we can try some reloads. There are sure some major league guys here who can dial you in if they have time. If not I can come out of the minors and help you out. Shoot me a pm I'll get you my number if you want. I think you already have my email as well -
Funk week for me, made one hike and one run then had to exercise the animals. I did find a new great leg work out. I did 4 hours of tile work in my bathroom and man my legs were trashed , sore as heck a few days later. I'm still sitting on my hands with the train to hunt workout, need to move my but on that.

Still here. Working on the steering again now to get the play out

Is this request a time issue? Is it a lack of reloading equipment? Experience? Your best bet would be to do the work yourself using others gear if that's the case? If it's a time issue that's another story.
