Need gun identification
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to MULEPACKHUNTER's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Ok after a great many hours of research and talking to previous owner and looking through gun bible I have found this gun to be a model 14 built in 1928. A little trick for anyone wanting to correctly identify a gun, it's this complicated time consuming process of looking at the model 14 stamp on the action!!!! Lol I guess the lighting was all wrong the first time I looked over the gun Haha. Very cool this was a one owner gun purchase in 1929 for 68.00 bucks. Last round down the tube was 40 years ago. -
Picked this up recently and don't know the model, I think 16 ? It's traced back to 1924 per the owner but can't remember the model? Pump action in 30 rem Really love the head stamp in the side of the action very cool.

Cool deal, that's how I started out fly fishing. I fished bass for several years on the fly about 25 years back and only caught my first trout on the fly this year. Good times and nice work getting mom home.

Still getting a couple days a week outside. I always end up at like 4pm too. My system is I keep a squeeze bottle frozen and one with ice and when I run or hike I use both to spray on my head. Ounce the one with ice goes down the frozen one is ready and half melted. Works pretty well. I just started using a silk neck gaitor with cold water, it was decent first time out on a run, it keeps the major neck arteries cool but it's annoying. Big hat and cold water and hiking isn't bad. Runs are brutal though. Also I don't go anywhere in the summer without a cooler and Gatorade. Post workout drinks are a must. Last I keep gallon jugs of water in the truck and take a quick bath before heading home. I usually don't go anywhere without my gym bag, one less excuse to not stop and hike or run or lift.

Guns are easier to sell than tents

I was actually wanting to run kuiu bottoms with my first lite tops but I like the suspenders on the first lite. Maybe I'll just go with kuiu

Best Frame Pack For A Backpack Mule deer hunt
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to Coues Archer's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
No one pack is going to feel good with 80 lbs in it. Some will carry better but it's going to suck no matter what. Exo mtn makes a 5500 Kifaru makes 30 different 5500 packs Stone glacier makes a 5200 Mystery ranch makes one I still run a 150.00 pack from Kelty works just fine If I finally upgrade for a small amount more comfort it will be either the exo or the stone glacier sky archer Also for a 3 day hunt I would go smaller like 3500, 3 days no problem with a 3500 -
I'm going to pass thanks , bump for a great boot

Man ide like to have those packers. Hooking up from down in the valley would be the issue? Any stores here in phx area have these for a test fit? 11 is almost always my size but sometimes they are tight?

Ok very not accurate on the horsemen vs cyclists, I have no problem with bikes or people on them, I have only run across jerks on bikes 1 time. The large majority are very generous on the trail. Utv folks are even better but hikers a lot of times are really unhappy we are in their way. The bottom line is wilderness is a really good thing and is a very small percentage of the public land I own a dirt bike, mountain bike, road bike, kayak, backpack, mules, etc, I love using each and hope to continue as often as possible, our lands wilderness or not are always under attack, don't take any of this lightly, as fast as bikes could get into wilderness hunting could be banned as well.

Truck sold few days ago, a little bummed but it was time

This is a second owner truck purchased by my wife 21 years ago. It's was my Daily driver for years and hers before that. My son and daughter both drove it as well. Very few issues with the truck. Currently, it needs tires, it has an exhaust leak at the manifold minor but it's there, I had the gasket replaced 2 times and the leak has come back. Steering has some play in it, I have adjusted it but it needs some more. Never lifted and only off-road on regular dirt stuff. Mileage is at 210,000 but actual is more like 240,000. Speedometer was broke for a while. Ac and heater work. 4x works, stereo sucks. Not in the picture is a diamond plate toolbox. A few years back my daughter overheated it bad so I had a brand new from Japan not rebuilt 22re long block put in it. Also a new radiator since oil was in the coolant. The new motor might have 20,000 on it. 4000.00 firm or willing to go 3500.00 with an AR trade or 15x binos

Mr jangle and tac are off my xmas list

Man, this really just gets me torqued, I can't believe people would really want to destroy some of the last clean quiet and free of retards places , I guess some won't be happy until it's all gone and roads right into everything. Sounds really crappy to me There should be more locked up areas not less.

My horse crapping is not against the law. Pretty juvenile to point that out. People who don't regularly use wilderness areas often say this bike thing should pass but these areas were set aside so they would be untouched and untaimed, ounce the bikes get in there now it will be a zoo everywhere. There are enough great rides in the world and no reason to ruin a good thing for a minority group
