Great to get out
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to brademan76's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Sweet, great looking partner. Love those mearns? Or scaled? and the cotti. I had an archery shot at one in January but passed since it was the first one I've ever seen. -
So your saying due to how I say something or how I spell something I don't mean what I meant? What I meant to say was that I mean what I typed weather I spelled it the way I meant it or meant to spell it the way I mean it.

Just an abbreviation it still means the same thing. Sorry to say bust the majority don't celebrate Christmas for Christ, they do it for family time and presents.

We had the same issue but no bucks. Only does and not very many. Zero rut activity. I will say in November we had bucks sparing but that's normal. I've seen it both ways this time of year, right about now I've seen hard rutting and nothing as well. Mostly we try to hunt later in January and see more consistent rutting. Heading out next week to do some checking for a longer hunt. As for the cold it was 10 degrees in the morning when we crawled out of the tent. Not sure they need that to kick it in.

Paper is safer for the long run. Vacuumed bags can bang together and poke holes in the plastic. With this much meat it's more of a possibility, more than I'm used to. Listening to Steven Rinella he does a lot more meat than me and he suggests this so long term I'm going that way. Really if your careful may not be a big deal.

I'm leaning towards garlic Parmesan. I do have a package deal from cabelas for hunter blend that's always good. Oh and I used a sawzall to cut the shanks and it sucked. Definitely doing the hand bone saw next time.

Ya dude tell the wife and get the one you want. My wife would have just shopped online with me and called that a gift because she knows I am analytical about gear and would never attempt to buy me a surprise. Cudos to your wife for giving it a shot. It's not like she gave you her dads hairloom drill. Haha

The way to fix the sideways pics is simple. Just go to the pic on your phone and go into edit then save. Don't know why but you don't have to edit it just save in edit and it will come in to the site correct.

Made a few days with the backpack and were treated to a show by Space X launching a rocket.

Anyone up hunting or hear anything going on up there? Stuck at work for both me and my partner but we are headed up tomorrow to start hunting. We are looking for a 3 legged not so smart spike if anyone sees one?
-
I helped on one, we brined in a cooler for 24 hours then wrapped in banana leaves, wet burlap, and foil then put in a pit for 18 hours. I know there's a roasting box they sell that does really well, kachina may be the name? Remi warren just posted be used one check him out. I would try a rotisserie over a drip pan with offset fire around the pan. Put another couple pork roasts in the drip pan and cook for 10 hours or until it's coming off the bone.

Because they are hand made with high End fabrics and memory foam. Try buying a memory foam pad you'll see why. I paid 65 bucks for high density foam for my bedroll. It would take at least 10 of those to make one love sack.

I'm guessing 29 or 30

Love sack store , we have 3 of them for 10 years they rock.

Not by date overlapping but by actions. So how do you handle yourself on your tag? I'm sure this is very commun and it points, in my opinion to a lot of people's selfish ignorant lifestyle these days. Think like if your in a store and at least every other shopper just parks right in the way while getting what they need. They just think they are the only human on the planet or in the store and they owne the place. I can make many examples but you get the point. So my buddy is hunting his archery tag in 5b and its followed by a rifle hunt. Most people who hunt elk basically know what hunts are going on and somewhat when. You would think at least for your area you would know. So on Wednesday morning my buddy is in a blind and 3 dudes roll right to the waters edge and blindly wonder around never even seeing my buddy. They get 5 feet from him and are shocked when he asked when they will be on their way? So after some confusion they ask why he is there? He says I'm hunting elk. They are confused I guess because they figured they were the only tag holders and theirs was the only hunt and it started in 2 days? This late hunt had very few tags and we never ran into another archery hunter in 12 days. We did frequently run into rifle tag holders setting up blinds, tree stands, scouting, cutting firewood for camp, etc. most were ok but all were making his hunt tougher for sure. I know I walked about and scouted during the hunt while my buddy was in a blind or whatnot so I could have buggered another archery guy but I had the commun sense to glass my way into an area to be sure no one was there. Would be nice if this could be avoided more,, I know it's not possible. So how do you guys roll into your hunt with one still going on?

Help me with a deal we had, 270 win shooting 140 grn interlock at 100 yards went in small and came out small but big hole in offside ribs and a lot of mush between? How did it come out small and leave baseball hole in ribs? Also dang near zero blood trail -
What do you bear guys think about these two?

I say we bet 5 bucks and we ground check them 🤑 -
Well it took me 37 years to start hunting but it rubbed off on my dad and my son. This week the three of us will be hitting the woods together with my son and dad having cow elk tags. ( both their first elk tags) Stuck at work today it was fun to get target pics from them at the range one last time. Top 4 shots are my boys 30-06 at 200 and bottom 4 shots are dads .270 at 200. Again regardless of the outcome we are blessed. Good luck to all out in the woods with us this hunt. I am a little too excited right now.
