LARGE 16 X 24 WALL TENT MADE BY DAVIS TENT
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to KOFAONE's topic in Classified Ads
So how do you get that on the frame with a floor in it? -
I've come across elk in areas I could barely traverse on foot myself. Coues are like sheep and goats. My buddy that got me hunting always said lets go poor man sheep hunting.

I went with 5 same tent,

I doubt that, without being involved and privy to all information I'll give the benefit of the doubt.

Wow western states ? Very cool. Depression is setting in right now, I was on a big kick and had every day laid out up to my next race March 17th but the wife and I are sick and I've not been training. Major bummer. Going to try to get back on track tomorrow.

And let's not forget to two big items a lot of people forget, this goes away slowly over ten years and oh ya the big one , where does all this money come from?

Less deductions equals more taxes for Bill. We did our taxes last week and our guy was nice enough to run our numbers from this year using the new tax codes and we would get an extra 2700.00 for the year so I guess the headlines of trumps plan hurting the middle class was fake news.

Here we go again! Dicks Sporting goods and others
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to hoghntr's topic in The Campfire
It's good marketing , sportsman and gun buyers don't go there anyway so they are just getting free publicity and watch their sales go up from all the people who already go there. Dicks is a last resort for me and not for anything but sport type items. I'm surprised no one is commenting on their shady sales tactic. -
Mostly done with hogs so you can cook them whole. The skin protects the meat during long cook times usually in a large smoker or pit bbq. If it was gutted and kept cool it should be pretty good I would say. Let's see the end results and cook method. Nice work I agree the toughest part is that the hide was on for a while but just depends, if you gut it and pack it in ice should be great. If it was just in the bed of a truck then the flavor might be off. I'm hoping it's good I'll go for this next year.

6.5 miles in the rain tonight. Love these late cold drizzle rains this time of year. Had to drag my butt out of the house when I realized the weather was less than perfect but it turned out sweet.

I use a 7 and 9 inch fillet knife at home. Bought them at restaurant supply store for 20 bucks each years ago. I tend to use those to trim and break down the main cuts then when I slice into steaks I use my main chefs knife.

So a while back I was needing a boost to my work out routine, I signed up for a race. Kind of like having a set date for a hunt or a tag , you know something to work towards rather than just random day to day work. This was the black canyon trail ultra marathon 60k distance. This would be my longest effort and a pretty big deal to me. It sure did the trick, I had a pretty good effort up to race day and had a tone of miles in, including running while on hunts after hiking all day and carrying a pack etc. the race was really cool going from basically Mayer to black canyon city mostly on single track dirt trails. This was to be my biggest test to date and it didn't disappoint !! I stuck to my planned heart rate and pace and my legs crashed at mile 22. I ran leggit up to about mile 19 before my body started rejecting the effort. Haha This is the first time I have really wrecked myself working out and it was interesting. So 3 hours plus at 145 heart rate or more running desert mountains showed me I'm really not in as good shape as I thought I was. Back to the drawing board , 2 days later it was hill running 7 miles in the white tanks with a 4 mile flat walk cool down. Already signed up for another race, we will see how I can improve. It's amazing what the human body can do, the top runners are going 62 miles at sub 8 minute mile pace !!!! Crazy
