Have you considered the catalytic style over the tank top ? Much better for indoor use, not as hot but safer. Just an FYI, sure you already knew that

Hey, have Jacob make me up about 40.00$ worth of whatever assortment of flys he feels would be good for Wyoming rivers in September . PM me where I can send a check and I'll get it on its way asap. No rush on delivery as I won't be in Wyoming until September next year.

Sous Vide Summer sausage help - round 2 update
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to Rag Horn's topic in The Campfire
Sounds to me like the cure was off. Also how you mix the meat and grind it makes a difference in texture and how it sets up. Cure time is important for summer sausage and mixing it before stuffing to the right consistency as well. I mix my grind in a kitchen aid mixer to get it good and smoother and sticky. Slowly adding ice water while mixing helps get you where you need to be. -

This is the big problem, I can use my phone with onx off grid all day and then play tunes all night and my battery is dead. I have been carrying a battery pack for years now and with not much weight carried I can charge my phone dead to full 3 times. The new way around that is I have several items that can be charged with that battery pack so I switched to a solar panel set up and a smaller battery pack. So really the only extra item in my pack is the solar panel. Mine is made by Anker and has two USB ports and does work in cloudy weather

Keeping M/L loaded during hunt
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to Couestracker's topic in Muzzleloader hunting for Coues Deer
Just tested this theory last week, my sons gun was loaded all 7 days without firing and he neglected to put the condum on the barrel when we got hit with rain and hail so when we got back to the truck I poured water out of the front of the scope and from the barrel. We hunted 2 more days and then unloaded the gun at 100 yards and it was on zero. Modern gun with loose powder and sobots -
Pickling spice = corriander seeds mustard seeds black peppercorns bay leaves ground mace whole cloves ground ginger cinnimon stick sugar salt curing salt or pink salt i would suggest brining for 14 days before smoking, I've been buying eye of round at Costco and doing those and they are very good. It's really hard to get this wrong other than over cooking and going super dry. Note that this brine works really well on whole chickens also , I brine those overnight then grill for 20 minutes per side splayed out with backbone removed "spatchcock "

Bump since I forgot about this. Still up for sale

For the guys who don't like looking through spotters why are you? I hook my phone or camera to it and watch the screen comfortably with my hands in my pockets, and I get video I can save for later. That alone makes the spotter #1 for me. I use my binos on the tripod then when I see something I swap to spotter video mode

Here's a little trick with onx, I was in an area with no coverage but didn't have that area downloaded so I just marked where my camp was and road out, I was still able to mark items I wanted and find my way back to the truck I just couldn't see the map, I was also able to click on a way point and use the goto function to get me to where I was wanting to go.
