on the mre thing i went all mre on my hunt in 29 rifle this year and they were ok but at all cost even in deaths grip do not ever ever eat raisins out of an mre, holy moly i almost died, tasted like they were preserved with motor oil , worst thing i ever ate, nasty, i tossed them in the bushes, when i got done glassing there were three dead squirls with raisins next to them, true story. lol kidding for those who believed it. not kidding about the raisins just squirels. my military buddy says dont eat the milkshakes either they have had issues. maybe something to do with dead squirls

I run the MSR sweetwater, best i have used. I run the 3 liter platapuss bladder and fill it at every water hole unless I know where I am, dont assume there will be water later. I also carry an empty 16 oz water bottle for filling ounce I am in deep, this is perfect for the mountainhouse meal for dinner. I will do coffe in the morning with my bladder water.

40lb pack i can go 4 or 5 days, i use mountainhouse all the way, mre are just bad and they weigh more. i make sure i have water to filter where i pack into. im used to having water for the mules anyway so most spots i hit have water if i backpack. try cameron hanes book on backcountry bowhunting, prety much the bible imo for hunting backcountry. fires me up just seeing the cover.

I have a box of 525 22LR remington that I would like to put up for auction with all proceeds going to CWT.com I will start the biding at $30.00 and if no one goes higher I will buy them from myself donate that. Since this may get crazy lets start the bidding tomorrow morning at 9:00am and it will end at 2:00pm unless we are stuck at $30.00 I will extend it to allow more folks to see it over the weekend. So starting bid tomorrow morning at 9am is $30.00 BTW I am located in Wickenburg but work in Tempe so exchange should be not too bad and we may be able to do some sort af hand off from here to Tucson since all the cool guys and gals are down there and will most likely outbid the rest of us.
-
Closed at $51.99 and I threw in a couple of 10 dollar of coupons for sportsmans. I will let the silent bidder decide to announce his purchase or not. Thanks guys.

Newest bid by our silent fellow CWT member is an odd $51.99.

I have an offline bid from an silent bidder from this site for $40.00 so current bid $40.00

Trust me folks I dont want this to be a bad thing and its not easy giving these up as they were very hard work to get, I have had them for 6 months or so and have more. I had to load some rounds and trade for them so they cost me more than they were worth retail but thats not the point.
-
WHat do you mean lottery? I dont want to stick it to anyone but if someone has 50 60 bucks they can spend and need some hard to get 22lr it would be cool for CWT and them. I am open to suggestions but I hate to change it now since guys have thought it over and decided to bid or not.

How much does 'canting' your rifle affect accuracy?
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to 308Nut's topic in Long Range Shooting
next time you are at the range try it out, shoot normal at 200 yrd then cant gun and shoot again. its funny when i first put a bubble on my long gun i was off alot where i normally shoot comfortably so i had to adjust my cheek weld and posture but if you are sighted in with the cant you are allowing for it but ounce in the field its the same as a bow you need 3rd axis leveling or whatever they call it. level is the way to go for long range, dont leave home without it. i sue both rail and scope mount, i use the rail mount level to set my scope on a target level then set the scope mount off of that. -

Had a great solo trip out over the weekend in a new area for me, had a good stock on 1 buck and had him behind a tree at 30 yards but he knew I was there and never stepped out. Found some other deer but no stocks and found some Javi sign but never found them either. I think I will be back sometime soon. Put alot of miles on the new BrowTine boots with no issues so far.

Archery backpack Javi / Deer hunt
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to MULEPACKHUNTER's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Hey! I'm in the market for some boots. How do you like the browtine so far? Is the shank to stiff? or the ankle support to high to kneel comfortably on a stalk? Check out the post on these in other gear forum, Proslayer had some issues with his but mine have been solid so far and I have gone through some nasty rocky stuff and have like 20 plus mile in them so far, I cant say anything bad at all, first day out hiked 10 miles with 35lb pack and never broke them in. I will keep updating other gear post as I wear them more. I would not want to hike with Proslayer I can say that much. LOL -
nice job and way to work hard, looks like you hit him with an exploding broadhead. lol
