More short videos of some awesome 3A-3C deer and lots of kill shots. Good luck on the draw!!

Headed up there this weekend for some scouting and playing, we have a cabin in 3C but I never hunt there. LOL I have been thinking of starting to look around and see if I should start, Just thought there were too many roads for my liking. Great videos and congrats on the successful hunts. -
Great guy and was very helpful when I delt with him. Sure wouldnt expect any foul play, Im sure it will all be good.

Wow , thats some table. Great for the cause, I tried to get the moonshine but the wife pinched me at about 200.00. The white tail hunt sounded great, my wife and I have land in Kansas and she is from there, that would have been a perfect hunt for us. You guys must have been the VIP table i am guessing?

1 extra chromosome or whatever its called, thats also why they attack rather than run.

Too funny My wife got a purse in the auction. She also let them know that blenders and food processors have no place at an elk dinner!!!!!

Thanks for the link, looks like we are still ok for now, closures are east of us.

Our place is a little better than that, the door closes. LOL Oh and I grabbed one of those double sleeping bags so now we wont have to carry 2 of them.

Thanks again guys for the help, we ended up with DC outfitters and a horse pack trip, I will not be along but I will try to get some photos or info on how it goes, should be epic for sure. Hard to go wrong with an early rifle 27 tag.

Hey guys hope you had a good time, we were at the Grace Mechanical table and we won the beer cup shot gun right out of the gate, we also won the 7mm later on but dont remember what raffle that was. I didnt win crap but nailed a few silent auction items the wife wanted. How about that puppy, last year I had the lab going to about 1000.00 and bailed out but this year wow 4000.00. We got one of our new guys and a non hunter in on the lifetime member deal for the .22 lever action. Was a good night cqapped of with some live bull riding and dancing at the roadrunner. Oh and then I slept until about 10am Sunday. OUch

Thanks guys, most likely we will hit FR300 and find something. I checked forest web site and no mention of closure, of course they may wait until the day we are leaving and not do it earlier in the week cuz that makes sense. Hope they are open but I guess we could just hit the cabin.

Better yet just blast em.

I have been working on sweetening up a couple of Mauser model 2000 rifles and was having an issue finding bases for them, they have never had a scope mounted on them. Anyway after some measuring to see if there was compatible units out there I realized the dimensions didnt match even what they were supposed to be for the model 2000 and also didnt match anything out there. Well easy enough I went with the bases I wanted and was able to get them undrilled so I can put the holes in myself and where they are supposed to be. Now I went looking further and found several of my other guns and friends guns where the accuracy of the mounting holes is subpar. Not only are they not on center of the action but the spreads are off. You can still mount the base but it will bind up and each screw will fight the others, then in some cases they are off center. I will be making adjustments to my bases to allow for the off center and my friends have requested the same for their guns. Just an FYI guys, to me it looks like the bases are pretty good but some actions including high end actions are not perfect as we would like. With some of the very sweet rigs on here this is one more little item that can make the difference shooting way way out there.

I think he got you all fooled, you know he rides a horse right??? Kidding of course. Or am I/??

if you have the spring archery bear tag, you had better hurry up!
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to AZLance's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
to me if it was really fire danger why would they leave it open for this weekend? there will be more folks up there this weekend then maybe any other so lets leave it open when its most risky then close it when no one is going up? makes no sense at all if there is extreme danger. -

Thanks for the comments, Bill I will be checking that book out for sure, I am a big reader and cant get enough of outdoor real life writing. Sounds like a life packed with stories, I have a few myself and plan on making a few books worth in the years to come. Seems like every time you take off with mules you have a shot at o good story. No doubt they know exactly whats going on around them and forget trying to make them do anything they dont want to do. The trick I am told it to make them think it was their idea in the first place. I know for now the trick with any animal packing meat is to get it wrapped and on them asap before any smell starts, a very fresh kill smells clean and fresh like earthy even and it doesnt bother mine, but a few hours later they know something is not right and get nervous. Heading out this weekend to try and find some Yotes to hang over the fence and work them into meat packing some more. They have an elk hide on the fence at their water tank at all times for now. That guard mule thing is true, although they do have flight in them they will fight just as often, I had a dog come at us one time and dammed if my big mule didnt turn nose to nose with this Pit and fire off a few jabs with his front right, that dog put the breaks on right now and decided we could proceed without further interuption. LOL I honeslty think had that dog came closer it would have been dead.

ya way too much but in my mind its ounce in a lifetime trip for 3 months 600 miles into the bush, not towing up the rim to park next to 15 other houses on wheels 300 ft from a road.
