I know the new diesel trucks are very good but with not having a payment in the last 7 years I can't imagine paying 55,000 plus for a vehicle. If I had serious cash no doubt but that I do not have.

I am hoping to get some opinions on trucks from those who use them. I am planning getting another truck. I have a diesel already but need a new daily driver so I have narrowed it down to 4x4 3/4 ton gas motor most likely reg cab long bed. So say from yr 2008 to new what are some opinions on what brand or year to buy? I don't care about fluff so rubber floor and manual windows are fine. Manual trans prefered. Looking at a 2009 ford v8 with 52,000 miles tomorrow.

V10 would be an option. I had one before but it was a turd on top end. It would need some torque work on it.

I found a 2008 3/4 ton Chevy v8 gas with 52000, miles for 17 grand that's sounding good.

I guess I should have mentioned I don't want new or crazy priced. I have a diesel now so I don't need to spend that coin. Just need a gas v8 and the 3/4 ton is just in case I need it. I am kind of leaning now over to the hemi 4x4 maybe 2010

I would also check into the forward start date. I remember at the meetings that said we would be able to set the start date of the new license at purchase? So you should have been able to buy it now but have it start the day after your current one expires.

Let me add my 2 cents, I had a similar deal when I did my egr delete and external oil cooler i drove for a few days and started to have other issues, all were coincidense. Not to the tune of 1000 bucks though. But I did get stranded 2 times. One other deal is Mark Salem, he does a radio show on saturdays and runs great shops, check him out. I know he will go after the other shop if they did try to screw you and he will fix your issues as well.

Not really concerned with ride. I need a backup for my horse trailer should something go on my diesel. I like to buy something utility that works for all jobs. I love my little Toyota but it sure can't pull my trailer.

Pre emptive check in. I am happy with my week. I made a 4 miler flat ground Monday. Stopped for a quick hilly trail 3 miler Tues. Got in an accidental 6 miler wed since I took a wrong turn and ended up having to go around deems mnt thru some nasty mosquito's. Managed a lake swim and 4 mile run Thur then took a break until a good hard 4 miler this evening. I didn't get anything but runs in but it was a good week. Let's start all over on Monday guys and girls.
