Let's take a little more time for research. I have 2 contacts in Texas and I can do some online looking as well. Lets see what comes up. I would even be willing to go as a non hunter if too many guys want to hunt. I can still split costs and help out.

Had a good week with 30 plus or so hiked miles in steep country. Carried my 40 lb pack at all times. Have not been able to get into my race training routine but I am close. No scale for me, I gained a few pounds but clothes feel good and I am strong so no worries. Big backpack hunt coming soon and a big tri race to train for so I think this will be a good year. Come on Jan 1.

Put me on the list, also depending on timeframe but I am flexible. I have a buddy coming by this week who is working in new mex and has a friend in Texas with a ranch. I will get his info and throw it out there

Check classified rem 700 for sale today

I would hit the net and start making a list. There is some great hunting there. I have a friend there and will hit it one day. You can hunt many different species for cheap and still hit a good ranch as well for your deer. I believe the hogs and exotics are free to hunt if they are on private. Some ranches let you hunt them free if you book deer or something. Should be fun.

You do have a tag right? Anyway I have no idea where mule deer live in there. I hear you are in the right general area though.

I was in on 68 yesterday and it was not bad, someone had tore some good ruts in there days before but we didn't even spin the tires. Very very rocky though. Only does spotted for us. On the way out the road was nice cuz the sun was out for a few hours. Man the cattle are tearing the heck out of the hills up there.

Any pointers on snow chain purchase or use? Going to put myself in a situation in Jan where I may need them for my Toyota 4#4 with 31#10.5#15 tires. Do you run fronts only or all 4 and I was thinking cabelas to purchase but not sure. Thanks for any help

I have been considering starting a shooting club to get onto all of the Ben Avery ranges. They have out to 1000 yards steel tach and basic pistol. I have tried to talk to some of the clubs but so far they are not easy to deal with. Anyone near Avery want to do a cwt shooting club? I have several good shooters wanting me to be range master now but they have few members.

Last December we it stuck in a hail rain snow storm and I left my bow under a tree and slept it off in my bivy. When the weather broke I went to go hunt but my bow was iced over. It thawed in the sun and eventually I could pull it back and it still shoots great. I did oil it up later and I always wax my string.

Hey guys and gals, so me and edge were out this week on a great stand but we had dogs yipping far off and didnt seem to get them moving closer. We were pretty solid hand calling for 45 minutes and would get em barking but they stayed out, do you think we should have stopped, got quieter maybe, maybe more agresive? We were basically both running rabbit calls
