Back country backpack trip for Coues
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to AZ_SAWBUCK's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Hey so what do you usually end up at total on your back? My 5 day set up is usually 38 lbs with optics and tripod water and all. -
Very nice

I think the point is a dry resort from what I heard.

Back country backpack trip for Coues
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to AZ_SAWBUCK's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
OK one more thing I learnt the hard way, put 100 lbs in your pack and go for a walk. Me and my buddy always dreamed of tagging a big mulie in backpack set ups but you will not be able to haul a mule deer and gear out even with 2 guys. Solo no way. A coues boned out you will be OK but be ready for it. -

You have a good start there. You will be good with your list and a little add ons from suggestions. I have been doing hard diy solo backpacking and also packing my mules solo and after a few years I can say I would rather have some company, me and my buddy hunt sometimes together and we break off solo but hook up evenings and its great. I always find myself talking to myself or my mules when I'm solo and when things get interesting there's no one to turn to and say holy cow did you see that? I still go solo but prefer company. Have fun and be safe, solo is an eye opening endevure. 4 days and you will look at things and life different. -
I still say you should have had his head down so you can shoot hoops!! Congrats man

I have some items from yellow front if anyone remembers that? Smitty's man when I was 20 I used to stop for steak and eggs 2.99 every morning before work. Good times thanks for sharing. On another note I was with edge when he shot that deer and that round was older than me. Lol -
Hey my wife got a purse too that's funny. We spent 800.00 and only walked out with that purse. Lol

We are at the grace mechanical table usually in the front.

Truck is sold to the highest bidder. I got 800.00 more than asking. Guy said he was tired of looking at junk for the same price but couldn't get cash until next day and I had more coming to look so he gave me his drivers license and 400. Cash up front and offered 800. More if I held it. Awsome thanks for the guys who pmd and looked at it.

209,000.00 miles one owner 4*4 crew cab short. Its been a good truck but I went for a new one. I gave this truck to my daughter but she wants a car for now. Really no problems with the truck, I just put tires on this year, new alternator, shocks are a year old, just changed the oil 500 miles ago. It has a homemade gooseneck in it very stout. Easily removed. Never towed more than 3 horse no living courters. It is in pretty good shape but has a few dents dings pin stripes etc. Major rocking stereo put in by me, it has been bullet proofed, external oil cooler system and egr delete, turbo back exhaust and had a quadzilla harness for the last 8 years until the alternator fried it so its stock mapping now. Much better chipped but it runs fine stock. All major coolant hoses replaced a year ago. Comes ready to go with cwt sticker. Also has premium 18 in alum wheels. 8000,00 firm. Please pm me for questions or phone number. The only issues in 10 years was egr at 140,000 and oil pressure sensor. Blue book for decent shape is 10,000 and trade in is 8000,00. Just want to move it.

I'll be there doing the same. Sew you there. After 4 years of zero its gun time, I can feel it

I think the app will be fine, with the new license changes you just need a valid license at the time of the hunt. Their system will show he has a current license

Just joined a gym. what else is good?
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to QhunterAZ's topic in Hunting Fitness
I would stay with the gym , don't let one idiot keep you from changing your fate. The best thing I have found is do your best to do some sort of exercise every day no matter how small. If 10 pushups is all you can squeeze in do it. You will feel better. I just started walking with my wife again in the evenings and I wear my pack with weight in it, works very well. Keep it simple and make it a plan on your calendar like an appointment. Push ups pull ups sit ups long walks. Eat the best you can, small meals more times a day and don't eat late. -
If I wasn't going for a tipi set up I would jump on this, sweet set up.

Did that spot many years ago and had a blast. My buddy did it last year and didn't catch any but had fun. Very sure you will be glad you went.

Changing Savage Barrel
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to buffhunter's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Look up measuring ogive online, basically its where the bullet hits the rifling. With factory ammo you should be fine but doesn't hurt to check it. I had an issue ounce with loaded ammo. My mistake so I measure each gun always now for each bullet type just to be safe. -

Pretty close. Do some more research. I use both go and no go then measure ogive. Worked for me.
