Without a trust you assets go to the probate courts and many others take little chunks and fees even with a will. A trust keeps assets in trust and the will distributes them out of court. We are setting up a trust and a will. My mom has the same deal. My in-laws are working to do the same asap. My neighbor down the street died a year ago and his kids still can't touch his house belongings in the house or cars and its all just sitting there. No will or trust in his case.

Big Boquillas Ranch Threat or Leverage or Both!

Don't forget about babbit lands, they have a full page in the regs, laying the groundwork I'm guessing. Starting to look like other states now. Its a bummer but it is private. I don't think cutting them from the unit is the answer either, I don't know of any other state that has done that and Montana has some much larger ranches. I say negotiate some tag percentage that allow access and draw off those separate from the rest of the unit. And then hand them a few landowner tags. -

Just an FYI I would take another look at a trust and a will together, avoid probate at all costs. Also a medical power and living will so there is no issue making medical decisions. I'm no expert and I don't have an atterny I like but I have learned these items recently and I am doing the leg work now for a few family members as well.

Freezing whole birds for eating later
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to SwampMafia's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Should be OK but don't waste it in sausage. Lol brine for 3 hours then wrap in bacon and grill for 6 min per side or until bacon is crispy. Serve with blackberry red wine reduction , mashed taters and a salad -
Ruger American rifle
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to Maverick351's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I rarely buy factory so not sure, I would bet the creed is more money but not much. Factory loads are on the shelf. The muzzle break option on the predetor is what will make the 6.5 feel like a 223 or less. They do have other calibers in the predetor, check it out. 399.00 retail -

Ruger American rifle

New predetor version would be perfect, heavier barrel and threaded in 6.5 creed -
Insurance is legalized robbery and a pyramid scheem until you need it. ,,,, sometimes that's when the robbery begins. As always you get what you pay for, go cheap and you might get robbed twice

Not too long ago before hunters became obsessed with trophy animals head shots were the norm. Maybe not with a bow but the bows were different then as well. Congrats

Ya wish I knew where it was, unfortunately I have this weird family that just doesn't do much of anything together except visit ounce a year, I was never taught anything by or spent time with my grandparents on either side, looks to me like maybe the things about kids that were so bad and different to a grandparent in the end we were not so different afterall. My mom and dad took their first ever rides horseback on my animals and now my mom shows me pics of my grandparents on a ranch in new mexico riding horses and hunting. Go figure. They are all gone now and I wish they wouldn't have kept to themselves so much. Its a gift to pass things on to your kids and grandkids. I took my dad on his first ever hunt as well. My dad is a good man but like us all he hit a few pot holes over the years, when I was younger I pestered him to take me hunting for years and finally one Friday he handed me a gun and the keys to the truck,,,,,, I was 12 years old,,,,, I went hunting lol

How about some chicken fried elk steak
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to hoghntr's topic in Cooking Wild Foods
I was inspired and slow roasted an elk roast in the dutch oven and made my first ever chimichangas. I have another roast thawing now per the family orders for tomorrow. -
Awesome, 180 sounds low to break down connective tissue, was it tender? I ran mine at 225 for the 6 hours but smoked the same. Looks great

I am not one to bash on a company but just a heads up. For Christmas this year we got robbed by target allowing someone in Michigan to buy 3100.00 plus dollars worth of electronics using inaccurate information and my wife's card number which is her debit credit card. Yep right out of our bank. We have never shopped in target or online until a few weeks ago we stopped in garden city kansas for coffee. Well from now on we will never use our debit credit cards for anything. Cash or amex only. In 20 plus years I've never had an issues with my amex card and if it happens its covered by amex. Now we get to deal with target on how they allowed wrong address and zip and how the security code on the back of the card was acquired or if it was used at all. Tis the season.
