Congrats Doug!!!! Awesome Pictures!!!! Beautiful Bird!!!! Brian

You don't have to take it off. Tilting it up and taking the fuel for it outof the boat will be enough. If you are still worried after that, take the prop off. We use our bass boat up here all the time and just tilt it up and take the prop off. Have had no problems. Brian

You are correct. Here is the link to thread. http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/in...081&hl=trap Brian

Our family trapped for years until they outlawed it on public land. We also have a friend that traps every year on the SC Reservation. We have all hung lions in traps. Like Lark said you may get a toe or two from them, but you will never get a foot. Lions are strong they almost always will pull free, if not they actually break the trap and get free. Leg hold traps that are used are not that big (by law) and cannot handle a big cat. I have seen fox and coyotes chew there foot off to get away but have never seen a cat do it, bobcat or lion. That is my opinion on my experiences with trapping. Brian

I was 10 or 11 when I killed my first deer, a rifle doe on the kiabab. My first archery deer was when I was 14, a doe in Utah. My first elk was a rifle bull in 3C when I was 14 (a 6x6). First archery bull in NM when I was 16 (a 5x5). Man, now I feel old. Brian

Way to go on your first gobbler!!! Thanks for sharing you story with us. Brian

Everyone thanks you for the kind comments and the congrats. The boys had a great time but now that it is over so quickly they are wishing the hunt last longer. LOL. Jason, I think the bird hunting is only going to get better in the days to come. I feel they that they are just starting to get with the program and things are going to really start to heat up in the days to come. We saw several big groups of hens with no toms and groups of toms with no hens. Thanks TJ, now I have some fishing rumors to go chase down at Apache Lake next weekend. Brian

Way to go!!!!! Can't wait to see the pictures. Brian

Yeah we were. There is still a lot of snow on the north sides. South sides I would say were 90+% clear except for some shady areas. Any roads that would cut a north side would drift out. Could not get to Big Lake from the Buffalo Crossing Side. Above 8000ft there is still a lot of snow. It is melting fast though. Only thing I know about Greer is at the junction there is no snow. In a couple weeks I would think you would make it. Brian

There are always a few bad apples in every group whether it is hunting or fishing. I have felt this way about a few over-zealous crappie fisherman this year Brian

Nice job Tommy!!! Brian

Took my uncle to SC today. Beautiful Day. We caught 35 crappie, 3 bass (biggest 5.1 lbs), one catfish. All caught in the shallows in less than 5 ft of water. All caught on minnows with slip bobber. Made his day on the big bass which was great. Lake has sure risen since the last time I fished, 2 ft in the last 7 days. Had 6 females, 5 had been spawned out. Great day on the water. Brian

Well I'm glad most of you enjoyed my fishing reports. Hope I wasn't too much of a nuisnace posting my reports. Anyway it will be my last one for a couple of weeks as my brother and I are taking a young man turkey hunting this next week. So don't catch them all while I am gone. Brian

Holy Cow!!! Great Flathead!!! Congrats!!! Brian
-
Here is my uncles bass. 5.1 lb . He caught it on a minnow. His biggest fish ever.

Glad you had a good time and that you were able to get on some fish. I was supposed to be there today but had to put a new trolling motor on today. Will be there tomorrow with my uncle who doesn't fish hardly at all. So we will see how we do. It will be fun no matter what happens. Brian
-
Good luck Tommy!!! I was going to be there tomorrow and Saturday crappie fishing but broke the trolling motor on Roosey this evening. So got to go buy a new one and install it tomorrow and Satuday. Brian

Here are a three that I hope are still around come August. Brian

My brother and I hit SC today. Man were there a ton of people on the water today. We hit the shallows hard and caught 43 crappie. Only 3 were females. All but nine were caught with minnows. Water temps got as high as 68. Fish were real tight to the bank. Most were caught within 18 inches of shore. Great day on the water. No wind. Brian

Seems like there is always some bonehead parking in the ramp, or the turnaround spot. Some people just don't stop and think about anyone else. I caught one carp last time that was about 8lb. Yeah, I am like you, don't think I could eat a carp either. Kind of like javelinas, I will let everyone else try to eat them with any recipe they want. LOL. Brian
