Auction is still going on. There was a cat go for $1020 and one go as low as $50. I bet average was in the $225 range maybe. Lots of cats being sold, hard to keep track of everything. Not many going over $400. I left there a half hour ago and there is still several more hours to go. Brian

I just couldn't stand it this evening. A storm front showed up and it was snowing a light snow, I had to go out and make one stand before dark. At the 16 mark this fox comes running in and I take him at 10 yards with a shotgun. Brian

Nice job on the coyote. I do all my calling solo. Tough at times for sure. I've let several get away this year because of being solo. Brian

There are pockets of coues throughout 3b and 3c. I've heard of people seeing them around Porter Mountain and Blue Ridge. I just haven't seen them myself and I live 4 miles from there. Brian

Haha! A scoped center fire? What is that? Is it some new shooter up device? Brian

I use copperplated #4 shot. Just a regular turkey load that I reload. . A lot of people will say that is too small but out to 40 yards I like it. I use an xxxfull choke. Farthest shot I killed with it is 75 yards, coyote. I don't know anything about 00 buck. I can't get it to pattern out of my gun no matter the choke. Most people use #4 buck with a modified or full choke. They all say not to use a tight choke with the buck shot. Brian

Anybody know a good place to sell fur

+1. Your high of 700 is higher than I have been told. I heard 500 was going to be tops. Which is still really good. Just not the ballooned prices of the past couple years. Brian -
Successful hunting secrets? That's some pretty funny sh!t right there. I'm an open book when it comes to sharing anything I know which isn't much. TJ TJ will share all his hunting secrets, but ask him about his secrets to drawing tags, he will tell you all. Then he'll have to kill ya. :-) Brian

Picture and title says it all. Came in at the 13 minute mark. Brian

I just read the latest fur report. The first major fur auction in the country was just held. Fur prices are expected to fall somewhat lower than last year and continue to fall. Brian -
Lol. Everytime I know one is close to the speaker I get worried. Usually I forget about it. Then it's too late. One of these times it's going to come home in pieces. Brian

I was going to get up early and go make a few stands this morning, but I decided that sleeping in would be the best thing lol. So I got up late and decided I better go out to a spot I knew there had to be some animals and make one stand. Well it was a good decision. I ended up with a triple on foxes. I called in five but two came in from behind me and ended up winding me. It was a true fox rodeo. Brian

Here are a couple more foxes I called in the other evening. Two different stands. The first one came in at the 4 minute mark and the second one came in at the 18 minute mark. Called in and killed another one this morning but didn't take any pictures. Brian

I shoot all of my animals with a shotgun. 90% of the time I don't take anything but my shotgun. The rest of the time I take both. I have killed 24 foxes 4 coyotes and 2 bobcats so far. Should be more foxes and coyotes but I let a few get away. Lol. Brian

Yeah that was one of the prettiest foxes I've ever killed. Also was just layered in fat. I skin them all and sell them.

Make sure that your access in and out of the blind doesn't cross paths with where the deer are coming to and fro. Brian
