Lol. Not done yet. Found lots of birds had some close calls but no bird down yet. Brian

I've always heard the same as you when it comes to spurs. Maybe it depends on the terrain they live in, that wears them down. I'm not sure. As for different units, I don't know. I've only been in 29 for turkeys. Haven't been in any of the other units that have turkeys. Other people that have, would have to chime in on that one.

Big congrats on your bird! Yeah, that '11 Tom was a big bird with a big thick beard. Both birds had spurs between 7/8" and 1". Brian

Big Tub, I'm going too. If I don't kill one, I don't kill one. Won't hurt my feelings at all if I don't. It's archery or bust. Brian

Great pics! Amazing what they will eat. Here is a video of a couple I took a couple years ago eating big crappie. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v84/standman/?action=view¤t=BlueHerons.mp4 Brian

Yeah, drawing 3 goulds tags in seven years is really amazing. Just wish some of that luck would rub off on a sheep tag for me.

Lol! I actually have unit 29, and you cursed me enough, I didn't draw elk or goat. Brian

Finally got to hit the the lake this evening for 2 1/2 hours. Nice to get back on the lake after being sick ( still sick but went anyway ). Ended up catching seven bass, two were smallies, and a flathead cat. Largest was just under 4lbs. Had three others come unbuttoned. Not a bad evening. All caught on droshot. Water temp was 61 and it was quite windy. Will be back on the water in the morning. Brian

Where we were at the last two days, we only saw one carp. We even specifically discussed this, that we were glad we were not there bow fishing. If the rumor is they are up like crazy, wasn't where we were at. Brian

My bracket was already ruined but I had Wisconsin beating az and into final four. West region was the only region I had right.

General Coues hunting question #2
standman replied to macknnc's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
A lot of people just put in for the late December hunts and build bonus points till they are drawn. Every year that they are not drawn they then buy a leftover tag after the draw for one of the earlier hunts. They get to hunt every year while still only putting in for the late hunt. You don't lose your bonus points if you buy a leftover tag. Brian -
Nicely done! Brian

Well lets see. Drew my first early rifle bull tag when I was 14. Since then I've drawn 6 other archery bull tags in unit 1 and 3c along with ten archery cow tags. I'm 5 for 7 on bulls and 8 for 10 on archery cow. Brian
